Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

So Roos has made the comment that Leo has signed on with the understanding that he may not be in the best 22 come mid year if kids improve, however Leo has made the comment that the reason he signed was to get another finals series (so clearly still in the 22 at the business end)? A favourite son setting the scene in the media early?*

*Yes, I'm being an arse. He may very well be in the 22!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Interestingly, Roos made the same comments last week about Hall in 09, and it being a "transitional year".

So if either are not up to scratch, they will retire and/or go to Canberra. Same would apply to O'Loughlin and Crouch. I think everyone is on notice which is fair enough.

Personally I think they are still all in our best 22, and that is still a very competitive 22, but it would also not worry me if all retired at the same time next year.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

OK, you're extracting the Michael, but in fact if it came to that I'd expect him to do a good job with the kids as Benny did and as Crouch would. The main thing that I'm happy about in his statement is that he's out to enjoy what time he has left; I'd like to see a little less earnestness and a little more enjoyment all round.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
