    Willo's record is broken

Alas, Paul Williams' record of the most games (293) before a first premiership has been broken by the 305 game Shane Crawford. I'm sure Willo will be OK, and good on ya Craf.

Poor Geelong. They now hold the infamous record of the least games lost in a season (just twice) without winning the flag.

Technically Paul Roos still has one over him because he managed to take longer as player/coach.

If Willo can reproduce that magic as coach for Demons, etc I'd be ecstatic. But good work to Craf.

I hate Hawthorn an am devastated Willo's record is broken. I honestly feel that the bad old days of the eighties are back upon us with this win. The evil dark ages of the Pontificating,all-knowing,all-seeing Victorian clubs with their divine right to rule attitude will cloak the known world again.

I HATE HAWTHORN AND ALWAYS WILL AND AM ASHAMED THAT tASMANIA HAS HAD A HAND IN KEEPING THEM ALIVE FOR THEM TO GET TO THIS STAGE.

Back to the days of the millions of smug Hawthorn supporters that made my life a misery. I can't bear the thought of eating in the staff room ever again or shopping down the main street without their smarmy faces lauding it over everyone because they are better than everyone else because their fowl team with its foul colour and it s smug no.15.......arggh I just want to slit my wrists.

Would not be surprised to hear that Voldemort is back.

Yeah, I am not really a fan of either the Cats or the Hawks, I have enjoyed watching Geelong play over the last couple of years, Hawthorn were very very good today, but geez the Cats were ORDINARY. Over four quarters, I reckon they were worse than us in the first half of the 2006 GF, by their standards. At least we never gave in. They seemed to have a lot of passengers, and not just Stokes and Ottens. Even Bartel and Ablett were ineffective. I am happy for Crawford though!

          *Yawn*

It was only 2-6 years ago that the Non-Victorians dominated the competition. You're point is like the guys who think power forwards will fade out every time the Coleman is won by a guy who kicked 70-80 goals in the year. It cycles. Deal with it.

Not by his usual standards! I've seen him play a lot better games. Maybe I am being a bit harsh but his game today reminded me a bit of Judd in the 2005 GF, got a lot of the ball but his disposals didn't have their usual impact.

Maybe NMW meant by our Ablett's standards?

I think there was an element of that for most of the Geelong players, but Geelong's midfield dominated for most of the day even though their disposal was below par too often.

Ablett came second in the Norm Smith voting.

I dealt with it before and that is the point I am making ..it is really unpleasant, bordering on painful when the lineup of smug faces along the wall in the staffroom laud it over me and the one other non-victorian barracking person. It is not about the cycle which I completely understand ..it is about the conditions that have to be endured during this cycle.

For example none of them even tried to go to the Grand Final and said thngs like 'We will win anyway" and this is from Hawthorn not Geelong supporters.."my going won't make a difference." I knew I had to go as it is so rare that we have a chance that I had to be there. They think that all is right with the world now as the premiership is where it rightly should be. Geelong wasn't even quite right last year. Maybe where you work and live isn't as infested with Hawthorn/Essendon/Collingwood supporters. In fact now that Hawthorn is the Tassie Hawks it has got worse here.

I will deal with it but not without a lot of kicking and screaming and vomiting.

I think it's worse when the people around you are incapable of adjusting their brains to the fact that premierships are actually bloody hard to win (just look at our history!!) and that it's NOT anyone's divine right to win one. Grr.

As another tasmanian and as one that grew up in the eighties when hawthorn was so dominant I can see where you are coming from. Just about every second person barracks Hawthorn.
