Bridges can be built pretty easily when the will to do so is there.
Does that go for Davo, too?
I'm in two minds. I want him because he's a good player. I don't want him because, if reports are accurate, he gave a verbal commitment to re-sign then broke his word. His cred must now surely be non-existent. I am inclined to view him the same way as Mr Ugly and Sharron Grant...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
After all the drama surrounding O'Keefe this week I had actually set myself up for a trade. So at least momentarily I am slightly disappointed. Would have been great to squeeze another first rounder out of someone, say the kangas, in exchange for O'keefe seeing as how 'super' this draft is. Oh well, lessons learnt all round i'd say.
However if 'duck butt' stays homesick we might have to go through this all over again next year!!!
Well. It's now 2:19pm and ROK hasn't been traded. So we either keep a player who doesn't want to be on the team, or we lose him and get nothing in return.
I am guessing that ROK is probably feeling pretty ordinary right now, the whole deal making thing kinda didn't work for him. IMO he should dump his management and start communicating properly.
God I hope we keep Davo
"We talked five times. I called him twice, and he called me twice."   :D
I actually went and did a bit of research. This is from the AFL website:
Friday, October 31 (2pm) -- Club List Lodgement List 1 - maximum 35 players, rookie promotion, retained rookies, scholarship player transfer and international scholarship.
November
Tuesday, November 11 (2pm) -- Uncontracted listed players nominate.
Wednesday, November 12 (2pm) -- Draft nominations close.
Friday, November 14 (2pm) -- List Lodgement 2.
Wednesday, November 19 (2pm) -- Delisted players nominate.
So does this mean the club will know by oct 31st at the latest, if he'll re-sign?
Not necessarily. If he wants to go in the ND we'll know by 11 November but if he chooses the PSD route I think he has longer.
In reality I suspect whether he stays or not will be forced before then. The Swans will want to know his intentions before they finalise the list, especially if there is a youngster they are umming and aahing about retaining or promoting from the rookie list.
