    Miracle Cure in Europe

    Not Lourdes, Germany.
First item on 7 sports news. Craig Bolton and Adam Goodes have had surgery to repair crippling injury, successful, will be ready to participate fully in pre-season instead of weeks of rehab. Apparently soccer players get it all the time and Nathan Gibbs was onto it.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It's great that the club is willing to invest significant amounts of money into injury management and prevention.

Two of our most important players and both will be ready for training come mid November rather than probably first couple of weeks in January had we not committed to the expense of flying them to Germany and paying for the surgery.

    Not a cheap execise.

What was Bolton's injury? That explains a few things.

        Exactly what I thought.

I remember mentioning in one of the earlier threads rating players years that his season fell away so dramatically I would not have been the least bit surprised to find out down the track that he got injured with 2 months to go. Appears to be the case.

I wish they sent Laidlaw there to get the Max/Jarred Rooke hamstring treatment.

Not specified in the report, but I had the impression it was osteitis pubis. No doubt the club will tell us - eventually!

Agree totally. I would love to see his full capabilities.

Groin injury, they showed a diagram and explained something about a tear and this pressing on a nerve. Apparently they were moving freely after 3 days and will be ready to start pre season training in a couple of weeks.

Some people thought Bolton had an ordinary year, I thought he was pretty good most games and this explains why he didn't seem to go on those dashes out of the backline too often. Seemed to hang around the back 50 metre zone much of the time.

Hopefully Goodes will be rearing to go and will get back to genuine Brownlow form. All of a sudden 2009 looks a little more rosy.

Sounds like another groin operation I know.... Bit of discomfort and your back on the track after a few days....

As long as they use protection at least between mid december and end of january, we don't want anymore final series babies.

If I had my way there would be no sex at all for the boys between December and the end of February - that way no chance of babies during finals - we all know what happened in '06!!!

Sydney is regarded as the leader in sports rehabilitation in the AFL.
                              God bless you Nathan Gibbs.
