Melbourne-based fans aren't going to see much of the Swans again next year - unless they have Fox. Of the 17 games played outside Melbourne, only 4 are on 10 or 7.

Just having a quick look through, there are 8 games on fta into Melbourne/Victoria, whilst not ideal, it is 2 games more than last year. At least I have some Swans supporting friends with Austar that live very close by, so we will have some more good times watching the footy together.
I'm really disappointed with that. AFL is just not a game that translates well to radio as far as I am concerned, and I would much rather be watching. I can't remember what several members of the team look like.
But Melbourne v Melbourne teams will be on TV delayed on Saturday nights.
For the sake of everyone here, I'm not going to begin my rant on this issue.
Simply, the AFL have got it wrong.
They will lose fans of the game.
Already my children (who support the Swans) find their interest waning.
Some are more interested in other clubs which makes me sad.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.
To me it looks like the draw has been dictated by the TV stations. They don't see less than 10,000 registered Swans members as ratings winners.
The draw is so one sided now that it is becoming boring. Melbourne get completely shafted with the Sunday arvo games in Melbourne because they won't rate at any other time. Their CEO says limply; "we'll just have to win more games to rectify that". As if that will make any difference.
He has to say that because the AFL keeps giving them dough to keep them afloat, as they are losing members because of their perennial poor draw. Sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy to me on behalf of the AFL.
HAs got nothing at all to do with us getting only 8 FTA games in Victoria.
If I'm still in Victoria when my boy gets to 5 (he's 3) I'll have to get FOX or, as another poster pointes, out start supporting Collingwood like every other toothless twit in this Godforsacken backwater!!! As it is I live more than 45 minutes from the nearest pub with Fox "sigh" .
