Thats very generous ROK.
2.
Should have been dropped this year - drop him to the ressies next year until he learns how to not only obtain a footy brain, but use it (like McHack did, albeit not through the ressies - although he was close!!).
The only premiership "credit" he is allowed to retain is the credit for the kick to disgraced former west-coke budgie fallen star ben cousins in the goal square.

He was playing some very good footy there for a while which made me think his role had changed slightly. He was extracting and getting the ball forward at the clearance and stoppage really well. WCE and PA games IIRC were standouts. Then injuries occurred across the team and his role changed back to that negating role and then we saw the ugly side of his game.
I'd like to see him given more opportunities to play positively a la McVeigh and see what he can do.Comment

I gave him a 3. There are one or two games where he showed why he is in the team, but he doesn't perform enough on a regular basis and I see little scope for improvement. Should have been moved on the same basis that Brennan was.Comment

2. Don't think he's being used correctly. In 2005 i'm pretty sure during the year he had a more offensive role in the team but since then has been used primarily as a tagger.
Perhaps give him a chance to be a pure offensive player like Mcveigh was this year and his fortunes may change.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

3/10
Ablett by name, but not Ablett by talent. Despite being a regular starter in the lineup and playing 22 games this year, he doesn't provide much in the midfield and at times displays woeful skills and decision making on the field that can be costly. It seems his "premiership credits" haven't expired yet.
Statistics wise, he's dropped off in disposals (avg. 14.0 in 2008 vs. 15.2 in 2007), marks (2.4 vs. 3.0), goals (0.1 vs. 0.4) and tackles (2.6 vs. 3.1) when compared to 2007. He's played a couple of good games with 3 20+ possession games, but it's mostly mediocre at best.
A change in his role, possibly as an on-baller might have to make him play with more intensity similar to McVeigh but if stays as a loose man in the backline, he'll cough up the ball and will cause further problems. Next year has to be make or break for Ablett, the credits have expired.I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

To put it bluntly, he's a weak link. 2, and lucky to get that.Last edited by Chow-Chicker; 28 October 2008, 05:27 PM.Comment
