it really is a load of Bollocks isnt it.

Mind you it makes Roos look rather silly when a few weeks ago he maintains in one article that he hadn't heard from Barry as to what his intentions were and was waiting for the phone call to yesterday saying "I knew all along that he was staying"

Oh well only a couple of months until the pre season and Roos can trot out his 2009 innovation.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Let's just hope that this year someone tells Paul that when they suggested previously that he needed to start thinking "outside the box" they were not speaking literally.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I still maintain that the '09 inovation is that there will be 22 captains - one for each round - then if they get into the finals the captaincy will be on a rotation basis - each player can be captain for 5 minutes each (and a few seconds longer for the super seniors!). Herbal tea in the drink bottles and half time Pilates - you can see it happening now!!!

                O'Keefe slams 'obsolete' trade week

"I think trade week is a very obsolete system," he said after joining team-mates for the first day of preseason training.

"I think it really needs to be changed. We don't need five days - it could all be done in one day I think.

"I just think the structure of it needs to be looked at."
The 27-year-old said he was not apprehensive about returning to the club despite his desire to leave.

I agree....I don't think our present list can do the job...he's a star and could be as good as Kelly...but we need some more stars in the centre eg Cuz. I can just see Cuz and Davis doing it to us in spades....great recruits for Brisbane. But then, we sold Carey & Longmire for $15k.. bummer.............

i don't think we can't do it, i just think it's unlikely. four years = 8 spots in grand finals. a few teams will peak in those years and get two or more bites of the apple so lets say 6 teams play the next four grannies. the last four grannies have been played by us, eagles, geelong, port, and hawthorn, a total of five.

i expect some good years in the next four and we might have an absolute standout year in there as well. however, i think with our list, which is presently quite heavy with ageing stars (particularly in the key positions) we are more likely to be of the ten/eleven that don't play a granny in the next four years than of the five/six that do.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

                        Certainly bitter at the system.

If the swans were based in melbourne this would not be an issue.

(Note: this was not an attempt to revisit 1980 )

I'm sure there's a euphemism there, but I dont think the damage they could potentially do to us in one or two games matches the damage they would do by being on our list.

Davis could potentially do anything, but as always we'll wait to see that day.
