    It's allowed back

    @@@@.

disgraced former ex-west coke budgie junkie cousins free to return

Doesn't quite send out the right message, but at least they'll be testing him regularly.

Honestly, I don't think Lyons can handle him, or the crap that's going to come with it.

There are several conditions Cousins must adhere to upon his return, including urine tests up to three times a week, and hair tests up to four times a year. He must also co-operate fully with the AFL medical team's testing, and not "fail, delay, hinder or tamper" with any drug test.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

    No.

    It's all very wrong.

The message that should be sent out is that everyone who makes a mistake should be persecuted for the rest of their lives and should not ever be employed again and have no earning capacity whatsoever.

    They've got it so wrong

I'm no fan of Cousins and was vocal at the time when all the hoo har occurred, however, If the AFL are going to enforce such strict conditions on him to return when he didnt even test positive from ASDA's testing, then doesnt that make the "three strikes and you are out" policy seem contradictory? (does that make any sense?).

Its pretty safe to say here that we are not fond of Cousins, and yes he has brought it all upon himself ( he should change managers for a start if he wants to gain an ounce of respect) however, I think that if the AFL want to wave the big stick and get tough, then they have to do it across the board, none of this 3 strikes and you are out business. If they want to appear consistent then its one strike and you are gone. Otherwise the AFL are condoning drug use. You would have to say with the second strike then the player may have a problem - to let that go to the third strike, well then it may be too late. (dramatic yes - but likely all the same)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I have been thinking the same thing Wardy. It is hypocritical for the AFL to impose this on Cousins, but not on the 6 players who are on 2 strikes.

Now, most people here know that I don't really like to roll my eyes (because it makes me dizzy) .... BUT ...

Disgraced fallen star ex-west coke budgie junkie cousins may abandon return

His manager says the drug testing rules are a bit too harsh ...

BEN COUSINS may abandon a planned comeback to AFL football because the new drug-testing regime is too tough, his manager says.

Cousins' manager Ricky Nixon is expected to tell the AFL Players' Association the rules announced on Tuesday make it almost impossible for the former West Coast captain to resume his career, the Herald Sun newspaper reports.
                    Sheesh.

Totally happy (I've always hated the little turd and his turdish ex-club, maybe him even more than the club). So why does he go through all the crappola if he's not going to play (albeit his manager ... maybe earning his keep)??
