Have I ever told youse how much I love the guys over at Dockerland?

    Bless.

    AFL to follow cousins lead

Interesting and funny dockerland thread (well, more interesting than this one)

    What's the difference?

And now a word from Stephen Reilly over at the Aussie ...

    AFL's way or the highway

Now for the really good news ...

St Kilda issued a statement yesterday saying the club was pleased with the commission's decision but that further "due diligence" was required before it would make a decision on Cousins. Brisbane coach Michael Voss said earlier in the day he remained interested but not committed to the 30-year-old.
Is due diligence the thing you do before or after duty of care?

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Saints have just announced that they won't be offering Cousins a contract. I guess that leaves the dopey one at Brisbane to recruit him.

I don't understand why the Saints or Brisbane were his 'last chance'
Have the other 14 teams come out and said "definitely not"?
I still hope we draft him

He still has to nominate for the draft by this evening, before anyone can take him.

Is there any reason for him not to do so?

Could he just nominate and try his luck, hoping a team has a change of heart or a late pick they're willing to give up? Surely a team like Melbourne could find room for him on their list.

If he nominates, and no-one wants him, what happens then?
Can he play in the local leagues?

Whichever club picks him up, they'd better get ready for the media to concentrate solely on that club for a whole year. Maybe that's why the clubs are pulling out (wobbles, ainters) - scared of a bit of media microscopic action!!

Nick Dal Santo, got extracted from a media scrum yesterday by the saints, before he could say anything too much about the Cousins issue.

For Cousins' sake lets hope he does get picked up by a club otherwise he'll have nothing to lose and probably end up relapsing (and dead!).

According to ABC radio at 5.00 pm ben Cousins has nominated for the draft. Good luck to him.

Oh for crying out loud, is football the be all and end all to his life? He was in the football environment when he delved into this culture, so why would it now be his "cure"? He needs to grow the @@@@ up and do something meaningful. If he doesn't want to settle down and raise children, then so be it. If he wants to party his whole life away until he drops dead, then so be it. Choice.

He's stated that footy is part of his rehabilitation and that he wouldn't bother playing in a lower league.
