Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Was in excellent form until Annie kissed him, was never the same, and neither was his groin.

      6.

He had his moments. He also had a couple of weeks off after being reported three times. Can do better.

5 from me. Beyond me how he polled so many votes in the brownlow.

About a 6 and half, but we all know he is capable of an 11 out of 10.

I gave him a 5 as he was not fit due to the groin injury and did not have his high level of inluence this year. I do hope the surgery has fixed the groin as he is a very important cog in our team.

I gave him a 6. While he showed flashes of his brilliance, it just wasn't there enough to make a lasting impact on enough games. If you ask me, this year epitomised his entire career to date. Sometimes fantastic, sometimes very ordinary, with injury playing it's part at times, and simple poor form and discipline at others.

A little bit more weighted to the bad side compared to his entire career though. There's no way I'd rate his overall career a 6!

                  7/10

He played some really good footy early in the season but his form and impact dropped due to groin injury and sometimes poor discipline on the field. Still, he managed to do alright as a key forward when his abilities in the midfield were limited due to his groin problems and managed to play 21 games for the year.

In terms of stats, he was down on disposals (avg. 17.1 in 2008 vs. 20.2 in 2007), marks (4.5 vs. 5.8), tackles (3.0 vs. 3.4) and hitouts (1.0 vs. 1.4) but his goalkicking was up (1.4 vs. 0.4). He managed to get 21 Brownlow votes, which IMO was too many especially the 2 votes against Geelong and a couple of times avoided suspension, providing opposition supporters more "evidence" that he's a protected species in the AFL.

Throughout most of the 1st half of 2008, he was solid and nearly at his best in the midfield with highlights including against Hawthorn (27 disposals, 7 marks, 1 goal), Essendon (27 disposals, 6 marks, 4 tackles), Brisbane (26 disposals, 6 marks), Western Bulldogs (26 disposals, 1 goal, 4 tackles), St. Kilda (23 disposals, 7 marks, 2 goals, 2 behinds, 4 tackles) and North Melbourne (21 disposals, 7 marks, 2 goals, 4 tackles).

However, the groin injury played its role and reduced his ability to play his natural game and at times Goodesy was more of a liability in the side. He did buck the trend a bit, kicking 8 goals against Fremantle and 2 goals, 2 behinds after getting pantsed by Gibbs against Carlton did get us over the line when the overall team performance slumped after the mid-season break. He did OK as a CHF but his groin problem made it hard to have a real impact in that role on a regular basis.

Hopefully he's injury free in 2009, continue his good footy in the midfield, contribute to the goalkicking when required (not forced due to injury) and not get into trouble on the field. Maybe he can win that 3rd Brownlow Medal next year...

The great man was lame - given his injury status he was creditable.

He kicked 8 (I think) on one leg and unable to turn off a straight line..he dominated a few games when mentally and physically healthy, and set a courageous example for the team the rest of the year. The brain explosion and the injuries should have contributed to a dud season...yet he still polled brilliantly in the big B! We'll be talking about this bloke for many years.Looking forward to a fit Goodesy in 09.

Goodsey was pretty good considering all his ups and downs this season.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

5 - Not as consistent this year. Injuries aside, at times, his poor discipline proved very costly for the team.

Perfect description on Goodsey for 08.

Surely if we have another Cpt, though Kirky should be the man ,Goodsey must be given the role to make him accountable for good.

When on song though , hes as good as anyone going around .

We expect so much from the champ but even he found out how difficult it is to run with a crook groin. He did well considering and pollled well in the brownlow again. Now that he's fit again we should get a belter out of Goodsy in 2009!
