    members who aren't supporters

I have 3 mates who are also Swans premium members who aren't Swans fans. There's one crow, one saints and one dockers supporter, who all call the Swans their 2nd team. But they don't really have the passion for the Swans as they do their own teams.

I made this point in reply to a post by AnnieH and her hawks supporting bestie over on the other general footy forum.

Does anyone else know of non supporting Swans members. It's a weird concept. Or conversely Swans supporters who are members of other clubs?

    Some people just love footy.
The likes of Eddie McGuire, Sam and Dermie are quite vocal in their purchasing of multiple memberships to show their support for other clubs.
I wouldn't be surprises if an avid footy fan who lived in Sydney purchased a membership simply so that they could go to some games.
Good for the club I guess.

I have a friend who had recently moved to Sydney from Melbourne and is a mad Collingwood supporter. He has purchased a swans memebership the last 2 years just to get his footy fix for the winter. Its also good for me as now when I go up to Sydney for my regulation 2 games for the season, I have free accomodation for the weekend.

        bomber supporter

My bomber suppoerter mate has been coming to Swans games since 1996....we only clash when the bombers come to town. But we will be having some fun barracking for the tigers when they come to town with cousins doing the swans in from the centre.

There's a guy who seats behind us at the SCG who's at every game supporting the Swans except when they play Hawthorn, when he turns up in a Hawks scarf (it only encourages me to give the Hawks some audible stick).

I know many similar cases with Tigers, Cats Bomber and Saints fans. The club gets money, and they love football. Everybody wins.

I sit near a Pies supporter at Homebush who is a member. She moved up from melbourne and just loves going to the footy. As you can imagine the last few blockbusters haven't been all that enjoyable!

Kevin Sheedy is a member of every AFL Club apparently, and has been for donkeys even while coaching.

Anyone seen that couple who often make the TV crowd scene at the SCG, she is obviously a Swannie and he is a Cat. For quite a while his long face was in evidence with her commiserating (not). Its been a bit different lately.

I should 'fess up that I maintained my allegiance to WCE for a number of years while being a Swans member - my #1 passion was always for footy (and the Claremont Tigers).

Fortunately I saw the error of my ways well before 2005.

We have a certain Essendon supporter in these parts who is very similar actually. He even lurks on this forum.

He is intrinsically evil & is not to be trusted!

he just wanted some chance of getting to a grand final...
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

I know exactly who you're talking about, and they're fantastic people to sit near. You may be pleased to know that their toddler is a Swan through and through, despite his dad's feline ways.
