It's an interesting thought, perhaps they'll just put up a statue of Michael and when the Swans people ask say it's Paul.
SSFC: "No, it's clearly Michael."
SCGT: "No, it's Paul."
SSFC: "But it says Michael on the plauge."
SCGT: "Typo."
SSFC: "Big typo!"
SCGT: "Yes."
SSFC: "But he's holding a cricket bat."
SCGT: "No, that's a football."
SSFC: "No it's not, it's clearly..."
SCGT: "A football. See these letters on it?"
SSFC: "G.R.A.Y.N.I.C."
SCGT: "Sherrin!"
Well we can say with a great degree of certainty that it WONT be Paul Bevan cast in bronze, stone or playdough. However, if a statue of the blond pretender was commisioned, common comment from the general public would be "Bevo who?" but I'm sure the statue would appeal to gastric strickin pidgeons in large numbers, so there is an up side.
Out of left field prediction - Geoffrey Edelsten for services to the pink helicopter industry and the introduction of the Swannettes.
Actual prediction - its a tie between Kelly and Lockett.
Interesting that the Bevanator's great uncle the great Brian Bevan had a statue erected in his honour outside the Warrington stadium

the thing is that people actually in other parts of the world knew Brian Bevan because he represented his county in his chosen code - and he was a star - sadly your love child has little chance of ever reaching such lofty heights of recognition. just being honest!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Be careful here Wardy. Remeber Brian couldn't get a game for Eastern Suburbs before the war, rejected by two pommie clubs on trial and went on to be the greatest winger of all time. The Bevans are late bloomers

the optimism you produce is truly astounding... gotta give you points for persistence I guess.

Perhaps a statue of Michael with a shrub of some kind planted in front of it?*
*For sanecow, RIP
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
What about a bronze statue of the entire 05 premiership winning team instead?
They could model it on the pictures taken after the game...all the players and the cup etc...Roosy's kids could even be in it
But as a slightly left-field suggestion...maybe it could be a statue of Roosy himself, as the man who brought the premiership cup to Sydney, with very simple wording on the plaque...
"For those of you who have waited many many years for a Sydney Swans statue at the SCG......HERE IT IS!!!!!"

I like the idea of Roosy having that moment when holding the cup and shouting those 3 words bronzed.
"Two cities, One team, Together, Living the Dream."
Seriously, between Kelly and Lockett. Depends on their selection criteria. However neither played in Sydney's first GF win.
In that case it should be Roos. He played and was coach.
But what about Micky? He has earned it too.
Tough decision. I'd nominate Kenny. He has been there every week since day 1! I'd throw in some conducting lessons. He always looks like he's being attacked by a wasp.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.
Good 'ol Kenny Williams! They should make one of him like Yabba but either standing next to the Paul Kelly race or hanging over the fence at the Noble stand end.
"Two cities, One team, Together, Living the Dream."
The SCG should be renamed "The House that Lockett Built"
The only way they can afford the new stands, was what the bug feller bought them
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler
