off season trivia to while away some off season

Since they became based in the Harbour City Sydney has played 26 finals matches. There are only four sides that they have not lost to in a final. Name them.

(Note ? they went down to Fitzroy in a final in 1986, therefore all four sides are current).

Close. They lost to Adelaide on a rain-soaked SCG in 1998. The other three are correct but the team you needed was Port.

Not the Crows. We lost to them in the teeming rain at the SCG in the 1998 finals series.

I propose substituting the Crows with their city-mates the Power.

Proposal accepted. Apologies for jumping in one minute earlier.

We haven't, that what the question was.

Melbourne beat us in a final in '87 I think. Smashed us after they just snuck into the finals.

When you're right, you're right. Just looked it up, they beat us in the 1st semi final in 1987. Did I say beat? You were right again, they smashed us. In fact we went out in straight sets that year, we got pumped by the hawks in the 1st week and then got pumped by the demons the 2nd week.

I'll try again, what about the first 3 and Hawthorn?

We got soundly beaten by the Hawks at Telstra Dome in 2001. Kelly did his hamstring and O'Keefe got knocked out early too.

Not quite sure why you're still trying to come up with a 4th club though. We've already established it is Port Adelaide.

We've been beaten by Hawthorn twice (1987 & 2001) and comprehensively too.
