    Swans on Twitter

    Anyone else a Twitter user?

    I've just started to follow the Swans (looks official enough) and the last two updates (both from 02/02) are of interest so I thought I would share;

    1. Big White looking good down as a defender. Mentioned that they need someone to fill in for Leo

    2. LTR has done a hamstring, out for two weeks

    The way our backline players are going down White could get a lot of game time this season.

    That's a bummer about Lewie. I don't think that's quite his handle, though a lot of people around here don't reckon there's much LT in LRT.

      Twitter = waste of time. Plus "tweet" is the worst buzzword ever invented.

            You'll change your mind.

            Like, it'd be great if people could tweet (crap word) from Swans games. It'd be even better if we had a gateway that would allow us to text directly onto RWO, but let's just start with Twitter.

            It can be quite useful and you'll soon be on the bandwagon XS. It's inevitable as the Swans losing a NAB cup match.

              Oh, I don't dispute that it's useful, I just don't see myself feeling compelled to 'tweet'... it's just that we're becoming such slaves to technology these days, don't get me wrong it's great but it's really not that hard to live without some of these things.

                It is possible, Ugg did it a couple of years back, but it starts a new thread with each text, and I'd have to set up individual RSS feeds for everyone who wants to do it, then I have the issue of people abusing the privilege, etc.

                  There's always someone who spoils it. I guess between getting the game coverage from TV, RWO, other footy sites and the radio, I don't really need Twitter coverage.

                  But its good for breaking news. Like if one of our players decked another in a trial match, just for example.

                    With all the internet-enabled mobiles around the place, there's no reason why people CAN'T already post on RWO at the game (actually I think I did it myself at the game against Carlton at Telstra Dome last year)

                    177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

                      It was used for the reserves games where there is no coverage.

                            20 hrs ago, doesn't say much really. But, my gods, we do need some pace;

                            'O?Dwyer has been a real link player in length of ground drills & along with Shaw has added genuine speed to our midfield group'

                              Rotor Virus affects the Rhesus Macaque - Toobee Shaw to miss NAB cup opener?
