    Lewis Johnston

How many games do you thnk our new "'gun" forward recruit will play in 2009?

I think with Micky's injury, it is a perfect situation to play him in the forward pocket and give him FF experience.

I'm really looking forward to him playing this year. I hope he plays at least 11 games. He certainly looks the goods for the future.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

He'll play the same amount of games as Kennelly, Fosdike and Nick Davis combined.

Barring extreme injuries, 0. Doesn't have the body for AFL yet.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

He was drafted by the Swans as their first pick (12) in last year's national draft. Tall, very skinny, very young (barely 18, if even that yet) potential key forward.

he could make his debut at Skilled Stadium like some others have over the past few years, traumatising himself into never getting another game?

Very Good point!!! I have never been able to understand this. What a baptism of fire for a youngster. They should come in against Melbourne when the game is played at the SCG...ease them in! How was the way Vogels was treated! Had to play with a crook shoulder, only once put in a position where he could actually get some confidence and starred!

Don't forget that it has to piss down with rain at the same time and never rains again until the next Swan debuts.

Hopefully, the Swans brain trust might be able to explain to us one day when and WHERE is the right time to blood a player for his first senior game.

                      Mushroom cultivation until then.

He probably won't play this year and may get a run next year if he gets body built up.

Amid the excitement yesterday, our future coach made some observations about our would-be future CHF.

Longmire on Johnston - Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

?I think that we?d like to see [Johnston] play in 2010 and it also would be great to see Daniel Currie play. They?re a couple of players who have potential for us but injuries have prevented that."
According to Peter Berbakov and Jesse White, Johnston has been one of the standouts in the first month of the Swans? pre-season.

Nice to hear. The news gets better and better.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
