It's what I try to instill in my kids and something that's been sadly missing here in the states for decades.

Never any doubt that Pyke would play ! Besides the entertainment value of the chip and run play, it will be of considerable interest to a number of sportspeople to see if this late transition is indeed possible. Despite what some purists say, rucking with the square and line through the circle is not exactly rocket science. He could do ok. It's whether he is good enough to make up for the turn overs if he has to kick or handball.

I meant to post this earlier, but I think this proves once and for all that AFL is better than rugby union. *grins*

So a couple of the senior citizens (Crouch, Hall) and a couple of the kids aren't playing - but what about Malceski? Not even on the extended bench?

And "Playfair : hamstring - indefinite" does not sound promising.

I would say they have learned from last year with Malceski. He and Hall will be taken slowly until about 2 practice matches out from the season.
Maybe Malceski's fitness has not reached match level and Hall is being conserved no doubt. Crouch is probably in the same boat but is probably feasting on his premiership credits somewhere.

With 4 long term injuries and 3 already gone does that leave us with just 31 for season's start? Pretty skinny list. Schmidt, I doubt we will see much of him. We have to hope that the likes of Laidlaw, Meredith, D O'Keefe, Thornton and Braba go to the next level, and fast.

                          And what of Barlow?

I have been cautiously optimistic but reading what I just wrote I suggest we are going to need to hope that the best of the crop stays on the park for most of the year.

Good footballers are hard to find not big men!! this is a complete farce & i can't wait for roosey's poor list management since 2003 to finally bite him on the arse!! This weekend will resemble a comedy show!! Choco's kids will run rings around these athletes we have been drafting!! Sure he won us a flag but he hasn't been banking on the future & by the time he gets his head out of his arse he will be avoiding the door on his way out of the S.C.G FOR GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I thought he was a little confused, His membership says "Kangaroos" yet he refers to the Swans as "us".
