    betting on Sundays game

Can someone explain to me why I am unable to lay a straight head to head bet on Sundays game. I went into TAB VIC and they said that they are not taking head to head bets on this game. Is it just me, or does that sound very weird?

We don't throw the game per se, we just don't want McVeigh to kick any goals.

Even the bookies think that the Ansett Cup is a farce.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

At the moment, TAB Sportsbet Vic online is only betting on the eventual winner of the NAB Cup so it's not just our game where there's no betting. You'd imagine they'd start betting on individual games soon. Possibly waiting for team details before framing a market?

I could have sworn there was head to head betting on last weeks games. Anyway I will wait untill game day and see. Its a shame if there is no head to head betting on this game, I would have loved to have put $20-$30 on us at hopefully odds of 6 to 1 or 7 to1, as I am absolutely certain we will win this game.

You're right, there was h2h betting last week.

And I love your optimism and enthusiasm, Johnno! You've won me over - I might have a couple of dollars on 'em too. I won money on them last year in the 1st NAB Cup game. TAB Sportsbet was giving the Bloods 30 points in! I know we don't try too hard at these NAB games but, since Roosy took over, how often do we lose by more than 5 goals?

Betfair I do believe has head to head on it, but only getting like $2.50 at the moment- I'd think closer to game day you would get 4 or 5 to 1 however.

Not often. We rarely seem to be blown away. I'm with Jonno though. I think there are enough youngsters ready to step up and enough seniors looking to prove themselves to make this game more interesting then the bookies would think.

Swans by 70+ on the head to head will be the option?

Well, I will go to a pub(with foxtel) to watch the game on Sunday afternoon, I will make sure its a pub with TAB facilities, and if a head to head bet is available then I will plonk some of my hard earned on them. In previous years, the team was almost always made up of maybe 5-6 senior players and the rest kids who havent had a run in the seniors yet, this year it looks like there will be 13-14 senior players and the kids. Also its in Canberra, not sure if Port Adelaide has played there before. I just have this feeling that the swans have set themselves for a win this game.

Didn't Port play the Dees at Manuka last year or the year before?

They played North there in the first home and away game played there IIRC.

I think you're right, I believe it was the game where Winston Abraham took mark of the year.

Just back from the TAB in High St., Northcote. Placed WIN bet at 3.70, and 1-12, 13-24.
