Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The serious mullet emerged in the 70's for many of us. Tommy Jones, Bowie etc. Not a lot wrong with living in the seventies and keeping the dream alive.

Disgraceful comment GS14. Give yourself a backhander. How could you be so disrespectful to Simon Arnott...

Geez, I'd love to see you go back in time about 25 or 30 years and tell a younger Gerard Neesham (nine games for Sydney in 1982) that to his face. Or is the issue with the 'double-R'..?

Gerrard Bennett was Tasmanian not South Australian..Norf Hobart or one of those other godforsaken clubs south of the Tasman Bridge where they breathe the rarified air and strap on oxygen tanksto venture North.

On a serious note it has to be the number 14, both captain and vice captain of the team of the century wore the number, and I have had the privelage to watch both play and both where and are legends.

My apologies to him. Dreadful insult to be called a South Australian.

The issue is the rr. And the pronunciation Gerrard. Its Gerry for gods sake! As for Neesham i reckon i could have taken it on the toe and outrun him today much less twenty five years ago. Slower than a Sunday in Nowra.
