    Documentary on WA-based Swans supporters

If there are two videos you only watch this year on Youtube, make it these two. This is a documentary made by a very passionate supporter of the club called Scott Honeysett who I seem to always see over in Perth or whereever every year when we play.

He interviews several of the awesome WA Swans Supporters Club members about the club 2005 & why they as West Australians support us & not the Illeagles or Quokkas.

Here are the links for Part 1 & 2:

YouTube - There are Swans in the Nest - Part 01

YouTube - There are Swans in the Nest - Part 02

If you are musing over whether to make the trip over to Perth for the Dockers game, have a watch of this. Seriously, as Grubby Stubbs said at the function at the Italian Club it is an honour to be with such a together & close group.I know Myles was rather stunned by the support the club has over in WA. Now they are not only cashing in on it but developing it. The club gets extra $$ in merchandise & membership sales (as well as the lunch if they have one). And get local people more importantly to feel a connection with the team coach & players. Plus first & foremostly, there is a loud visible group of supporters giving their all for their club in the furthest-most outpost in the league.Especially the Eagles fans don't like us & cant handle looking in our direction when we do them on their own dung heap. That is why WA away is so fun, because the Schadenfreude in seeing once-arrogant Eagles fans all depressed and not coping with things when WE beat them AGAIN is just awesome!

If you think the notion of the Swans family is a myth, seriously go to Perth and meet some of these people in person!

See you lot on Anzac Day! You owe me a beer OK

      Hey JF.

Catch you at the Italian Club before the game. Should be different playing the Shockers instead of the Illegals this time. Can`t wait....

You know what it is like going over there. You have no idea how vile some of them are. I mean I had this old duck try and convince me the 2005 Grand Final was "just so sad".

And last year when Bolton kicked the goal with 1 minute to go & I nearly belted this tool who was giving us the finger all game. Eagles fans bring the worst out of me I'm afraid!

Still the Dockers will be more fun. You can have a joke & a beer with Freo fans & they'll laugh. Will definitely get some anti-Eagles song started.

See PS Swans63 & the gang at the Italian club as per usual.

You see yourself in the doco waving that white flag mate? (Enough to scare the kids!)

I'll give you a bigger one to wave this year around.

It's been said a lot over here that the only reason a lot of people don't like The Weazles is because of their supporters. That...and many other reasons. Anyway, it's a shame I won't be at the game this year. I've moved to the north west and airfares just aren't cheap enough to justify spending that amount of money on one night away. It's during school hols so airfares naturally double during that time.
I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"

                    Criminal Budgie bashing ... yay!!!!

We're getting closer to the season if it's time to start bagging the criminal budgies.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Yer I did. Jeez, I`m becoming famous. NOT! I think I`m up on the first tier stand this year, so a big bloody flag being waved over the edge would be great. In a way I`m gunna miss giving it the Budgies..

Ooowwww - we were stuck up there for the GF in 2006, watched it in Point Samson (I think, could have been somewhere further South on that road). It was about 47 or 48 outside in the shade and very very very tense inside in the pub in the last quarter - people stopped making eye-contact with us, until after the final siren.

Living there ? Its too hot for humans. Good luck.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

Aah Point Samson. Lovely place, it's the Dalkeith of the north west. Only about 9kms up the road from us. The pub makes very nice, very large cocktails. Yes, Wickham...very hot, very humid, one or two cyclones buzzing past during the last couple of months but apart from that, not a bad little place. Good air conditioning makes it all worthwhile!!

But back on topic...hubby has to be in Perth for work during that week so might even look at sacrificing my sanity to spend 2 hours on a plane with a 4 year old and 2 year old (ARGH!!) and get down there for my Annual fix of Swans. The members luncheon is a really well organised event. Too bad we're not playing the Weazles this time. We won't have anyone to take the p... um mickey out of. Dockers supporters aren't too bad. A few of them are actually good losers and most of them are good fun.

I most certainly do. Will be seeing them at the Italian Club in North Perth shortly.

Used to see Norma every year.At least we got a flag for her, God bless!
