I'll be there, and I'd love to see a good roll-up; but we're kidding ourselves if we're thinking this is not going to be a cringe-worthy embarrassing crowd.
If there's anything over 27,000 there on Saturday night, I'll walk from Homebush to the SCG for the round 4 Swans v Carlton game.

Great atmosphere, reminiscent of the final against NM. Bit disappointed in the numbers but the screaming, cheering and overall enthusiasm well compensated for it. Special note to "Auctionman" (was suited up and looked like an auctioneer) who led the cheering at the south end

I haven't read all the posts here, but do want to add that I tried to get another membership pass to the redzone this week and tickytecky said there was no game being played in Sydney last night. .... I sent a copy of this to the Swans, who responded with appropriate alarm, and didn't get the extra ticket. There there was plenty of room. Money down the drain Swans.

Other than that, it was brilliant being able to roar approval, except for some umpiring that was mind altering.

Sounds as though Tackytech and the Swans office between them have stuffed up comprehensively. all round.

blaming th 4 match passes is a joke too. The 4 match passes were allocated bays from day 1. I went to get one 2 weeks ago and they were almost all 'GONE'' (Ticketek definition of '"gone").

I can guarantee there would be heaps of 4 match pass people pissed of at seeing masses of empty seats in better positions in the bay next to them at the southern goal.

Its a f-ing joke the ticketing, and ticketek website is f-ing useless.

Just for a laugh, go to ticketek.com.au. In the search dropdowns on the top right, type afl, category: Sports, Location: Sydney-NSW

You'll get "Could not find any events for "afl", in the category Sports, in NSW - Sydney."

Great game, but the atmosphere was well down for my area.

There were a lot of regulars missing, and I'm talking 30 to 40 people at least.

I'll be interested to see what it's like at the SCG.

Sadly, it is not surprising to hear that ticketing, membership and off-field service was abysmal for the first home match of the year.

Obviously the twerp responsible for the membership reclassification is still calling the shots. Coupled with Ticketek's customary bastardisation of ticketing processes (typical of monopolist behaviour) is it any wonder the simple act of buying a reasonable ticket and going to the game is made too difficult.

One other truth is abundantly clear - the Swans at the moment are expert at burning revenue unnecessarily. Given the financial state of the club, they are lucky the AFL will have to prop them up no matter what.

Last night was our first as non members after ten years - after being royally jacked off at the huge membership price hike this year, we bought a family silver superpass a few weeks ago, 20 rows from the fence, bay 146 @ $40 a game. Had we renewed our inflated membership, we would have been in our usual seats, bay 101, 40 rows from the fence. @ $70 a game (assuming all games could be attended). We would have copped a reasonable increase, but they tried to gouge us and we weren't going to cop that. We were pretty happy with our new cheaper seats though!

Now to hear that people were being forced (and there are no plausible reasons other than greed, or possibly stupidity, for that to happen) to buy expensive tickets because the cheaper allocations were sold out, is just a disaster.

The club needs to take a good hard look at whoever is making the calls on all these things and ensure that he is banished forever to a place where he can't do any more damage. Perhaps recruiting scout for South America might be far enough away.

Oh, and our family superpasses (four plastic membership style cards) were posted to us in four separate, but identically addressed envelopes. Genius! A further $1.50 put up against a wall, multiplied by a couple of thousand such packages.

At least on-field things look to be a lot brighter than most believed after last week!

Well, I'm a happy Swanette. Apart from the great win, we put in for a seat change (not price change, we're still gold). This meant moving 7 people and we requested a specific area (near some other friends). Our new seats are fantastic (aisle 106) and we are all in the same spot, some in the row in front, others behind. The atmosphere there last night was awesome with standing ovations after great goals and lots of politically incorrect barracking.

And here's a transport tip for those still whinging about ANZ stadium. Drive to Ermington shops (Victoria Rd), catch the Dural bus (this is the last stop) and you will be there in less than 10 minutes. A great service.
