    Match Review Panel: Round One

The two that interest us are Goodes and Taylor. I thought Buchanan was the one that ran into Azaria. Or is the Goodes incident a totally separate one?

    Hodge got off too.

    Pay the fine Goodesy.
Geez, he really had a shocker didn't he?

I'm surprised Blind Barry wasn't up ... didn't he nearly rip someone's head off?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

There was a separate incident during a ball-up near the camera-side wing where the umpire recalled the bounce. My attention had wandered a bit by that stage of the game but the commentators said something about the recall being due to someone standing in the umpire's space and suggested it might have been Goodes.

Contact looked trivial compared to Buchanan blindly cannoning into Chamberlain but I guess they have become very specific about giving the umpires room to back out at stoppages. Surprised that nothing has come of the Buchanan one, though - even just a comment that the MRP considered it accidental.

            What a load of crap!

If anyone had a case to answer, it was monty when he ran into an umpire.

Liz is correct when she recalls the goodes incident.
I remember being livid at the time, as I was watching goodes closely.
He was behind the umpire, but not in his ?back out? path. As goodes ran in to the contest, his opponent purposely pushed him into the umpires path, which resulted in a St.Kilda free kick.

Just ridiculous that after reviewing the footage they think he has a case to answer.

What concerns me is that one umpire has been bowled over twice in the one game. It begs the question, does Chamberlain have any idea what is going on around him?

I reckon they should be made to wear pink like the maggots in the NRL!

                Goodes fined!

$1950 out of Goodesy's wallet for running into Ray Chamberlain Saturday night. Two points..1. Does a fine disqualify from Brownlow and 2, I saw the replay of this during the game and was sure it was Buchanan who hit Chamberlain. AFL website says it was Goodes but further evidence (if needed) that I'm going crackers!

Buchanan knocked him over earlier in the game. Chamberlain moved quickly to his left and it can be argued he actually ran into Amon, not the other way around. I'm sure it's why they deemed Amon no case to answer.

Goodes was pushed into the back of Chamberlain by Goddard during a ballup near the wing boundary. I'm positive no free kick was awarded, but they obviously thought Goodes was heading into the 'no go zone', which he may well have been, even though there is little doubt Goddard 'assisted' him.

Who left the ump on his bum in the centre square?

The other was earlier at (southern) half fwd flank?

                        Which was whom?

So if it is obvious it was Goddard who deliberately pushed Goodes in to the path of the umpire then why wasn't he fined. It is a free against a player who pushes another into the centre square at a centre bounce.

I suspect it because it was Adam Goodes.

On Chambelain, he appeared to hog the umpiring on Saturday.

Hopefully it won't hurt his chances, but if it has ... GOOD.

He's got other things to worry about.
