Some of the young guys really standing up and that goal by WHite on the Siren was just wonderful to see, particularly as he ignored a faux Hall lead and went back and took the responsibility himself.

Meredith did a couple of nice things in his first game and clrealy has a future. McVeigh deserves special mention. I've bagged him as much as anyone, but he's showed tonight that he's become perhaps our best player.

Best - Jolly, McVeigh, Goodes, LRT, B2

Shaw needs to get his kicking sorted and our kick ins and centre clerance work could be a lot better. I hope Birdy is okay - really concerned he went down.

I think we can and should win this game from here.
Summed it up perfectly. McVeigh is a class act.

Umpiring has hurt us, but we can win this. Was great to see the team rally around White when he kicked that goal.

Keep up our intensity, and get it inside 50m one on one and we should take this out. Keep it up boys!

Thought the same, he has a football brain.

Doesnt seem to be the same game plan as last year, much more use of LRT which is working well.

Whites goal was fantastic! Level headed under pressure - good to see.

Goodes has had one shining moment... but best?? He is a lot quieter than I would like for one of our 'star' players.

LRT has been impressive in our backline - he is a consistently good player, week after week.

McVeigh may well have been reading this site over the last couple of years - he certainly has come into his own!

            Shaws disposal is dismal.

Fingers crossed for Bird... we don't need an injured youngster.

I know I have more... I just can't think of what, right now

Jeez guys, I thought we'd had a good run from the umps (checks stats - 13 all) - yep we have - see!

Seriously, Jolly and McVeigh are doing well with Goodes and Hall threatening. I reckon our backline has been excellent with the exception of the kick ins. Great goal by Jesse White.

Meredith is a pretty good tackler for a slight build - would have been great if his snap was a goal. Anyway looking more positive than last week.

The kick the the HF line (can't recall who marked it) was cm perfect under pressure.

I probably should have also mentioned Grundy who is maturing into a very handy utility. He's taken some really nice one grab contested marks and his disposal is almost always effective.

Thus far, tonight only reinforces my belief that we have something to build and the time to start doing so is now.

Hall is an interesting one. I feel for the guy. He just looks really flat and to be honest, if he went over and knocked out the filthy cheat of an umpire, it would be hard to blame him. Aside from the stupid 50m paid against him, the one where the hawthorn player was clearly ju,per scragging him was frustrating because the umpire must have seen it and yet refused to call a free.

Malceski has also picked up his game a bit tonight with some nice kicking.

Worth pointing out that we are playing a Hawthorn side missing 9 from its premiership team and a few walking wounded. They still have some very damaging players out there, but we need to take our changes and get a win from this game.

dissapointing going forward then - Hawks take it down and kick a goal.

Hall, the man with the hands of stone.

Jolly has started well. Would like to see more from Ablett, Moore and ROK, who has with a goal.

Everytime we get the chance to hit the front, they get a goal and a few points back on us. A few shockers there includoing Moore's dropped mark.

                            Bird is back on. Phew

Malceski can kick again. Phew. Thanks LARS.

Have they not met their quota of soft free yet?? Far out!
