If Goodes plays as he can, it'll be a thriller; if he doesn't, Judd will beat him pointless.
In any case I don't like to see Goodes used on another player; I think it's one of the things he doesn't do so well. Let Carlton worry about the match-up.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
if goodes doesn't start getting his head down when the ball hits the deck instead of running through the contest with his mouth agape then judd will tear him up.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
It didn't work back in 2007 and it won't work next week. Please don't reduce your influence on the field Goodesy, I'm sure we've got a tagger good enough to take on Judd.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore
?It?d be a great match-up if Carlton were to let it happen. I know we always push for it at the Swans, to go head to head with such a fantastic player,?
We have one player on our list who had great success tagging Judd last year - kept him to almost nothing. Was early in the season while Judd was probably still struggling a little with injury but he was very effective.
Adam Goodes says he wants to go head to head with Carlton skipper Chris Judd at the SCG next weekend
I'd like to see Goodesy put his money where his mouth is.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Why does Goodes feel the need to make such a silly selfish statement. So much for "doing his role for the team", this wish of his reeks of me, me me...
Just do the job your given Adam, whether that means running with Judd or beating a Gibbs tag, I don't care...dare I say it...just do it.
Let's face it, in footy, it's actions that count, not words.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT
Some ppl here can never be happy with Goodes. He gets asked "would you like to play on Judd next Saturday?" So, he answers 'no'..he'd get eaten up by the naysayers on here..he says 'yes' and gets eaten up by the naysayers. What do we want?? 'No comment' and then the Swans are jumped on for being media bland!
I'm happy for the only dual Brownlow medallist playing to do whatever his coach wants..as he has done since he started (and has never indicated he would go against).
The Swans media dept should be embarassed about this ghostwritten article. Clearly they are trying desperately to create some interest in this match ala Roos' comments re Buddy Franklin last week. Goodes would be more effective chasing the ball than worrying what Judd is up to.
This is a hard game to tip BTW. Swans will bounce back from a poor showing and generally play well at the SCG. Carlton on the other hand have to beat sides like Sydney (away) if they are genuine contenders this year...it makes for a cracker match.
