Peter Carter 1977-80?

I read a short article on the internet that stated that South's Peter Carter (1977-80) was Rod Carter's brother. Can anyone confirm or refute this?

Also, does anyone remember what position he predominantly played in his 10 games for the Swans? At 175cm and kicking 2 goals, I doubt he was a key forward.

Can't really help goswannies but I can add a few details.

I have a book by Jim Main that gives biographies of every South Melbourne/Sydney player who ever pulled on the red and white. It says that Peter Carter played 10 games for us and one for Collingwood. He was recruited from Brentwood. Rod Carter originally came from Banyule FC and was 14cm taller and 10kg heavier than Peter. The book doesn't mention that they were brothers and I feel that it would've if they'd been related as, on the same page, it mentions that Dennis and Wayne Carroll were cousins.

None of this info gives you a definitive answer but it leads me to believe that maybe they weren't related.

True enough and thanks. I have that book too, and - along your line of thinking - it is interesting to note that Kevin (171cm), Frank (177cm) and Pat (174cm) Hogan are all brothers, recruited from different towns, yet it doesn't mention that these 3 players are brothers. I'd have thought that 3 brothers would have been noteworthy (and unlike the Morwoods, they only played at South).

I played football with Rod's brother for a couple of years at Tooronga Malvern. He is about 185-90cm.... looks quite like Rod. Similar body shape, hair, face. Nice bloke too.

Not sure if he played for the Swans but don't think so, he mainly played seconds for TM but would have been past his prime at that point.
