I shouldn't complain, I've been wanting him to come up with a plan b for years now- going on holidays is an unexpected one, but it just might work.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Hehehe..that's exactly what came to my mind when I read it last night, but was too tired to bother taking the piss....

Taking it one step further, he has tried coaching from the box, then from the bench, now trying from the other side of the world.....

Nothing like a bit of quality, "taking the piss".

So that will mean a promotion to the senior list considering he has been on the Rookie list for 2 years?

Considering they may lose as many as four or five players this year and the list is already short , they will probably offer everyone a contract that has any sort of future potential.

Brendan Murphy is back in training, and by all accounts the shoulder has healed well. In his blog on the Echo he speaks of his determination to make a senior debut. I hope he does as he has given up a lot to go to the other side of the world. By all accounts he is a very determined young man.

Certainly sounds keen. Coney would be a nice bonus - let's hope for the best.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The conversation on the flight back between Murphy and Coney would be interesting. Murphy pointed the finger at Tyrone officials in pressuring Coney to leave Sydney. The unemployment rate in West Belfast is now 40%, no shipbuilding now and not many career opportunities for those playing the traditional Irish sports in the north. Belfast has been recently assessed as the city suffering the most severe recession in the UK. Maybe Kyle will give it a go over here after all.

Ah the machinations! Those unemployment figures look horrendous. Hope the boys realise just what they are being offered here and can turn their heads around - the way it is now, it all looks like a waiting game until they go home! Kind of like early Sydney Swans recruits, waiting until a Melbourne club picked them up again....not exactly reasurring.
