Sydney's current 2009 home and away record, although still very early in the season, is starting to remarkably echo season 1997.
That year, at least up to round 17, Sydney had not lost a home game all year, having 8-0 record for 1997, and having been undefeated for the last home 13 games, (including 2 finals) of the previously season 1996.
By contrast, as of Round 17 in 1997, Sydney had won just one away game out of a possible nine, that win being a round 11 upset victory at Football Park against the brand new Port Adelaide. Overall, by seasons' end, Sydney's final away record stood at just 2 wins out of a possible 12.
