Our midfield is great when we go in hard. We were all playing like freaking Fabio in the first half.
Gees the first qtr slow starts are really peeving me. Do we really have to give a 6 goal start to every team to get motivated and moving?

LRT had his worst match of the year, but he's been really good in 3 out of 5 matches this year.....surely there's a few players in OUR team that haven't played 3 good games yet this year let alone the entire league.

Gutzy effort by the struggling Shockers , they out played Sydney at their own game and their skill level far outweighed the Swans. If you attack the ball for four quarters with that ferocity, it will find even a very good team out and force a lot of errors.
Swans looked very reactive, but tried very hard to claw their way into it.

I honestly couldn't tell you, but he's been decent this year.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Certainly not. Though tonight he was found ... found ... found .. whats the word... wanting (for want of a better word).

The worst game I have seen him play I reckon, but the lack of midfield pressure (I am assuming) run when he is there as the last line trying to rebound, and asked to decide on an option did little to help. I can only assume from the coverage, that beyond the short ball, which inevitably put someone under pressure, or clanged a thousand clangs - that he really had nothing on offer.

Would be interested to hear from someone at the game if this was the case.. Im sure it was.

Problem with our LRT is he shouldn't have to make decisions.

He was pretty ordinary all right. His decision making was quite lamentable. eg. Last Q and has the ball clear in the centre, goes sideways and kicks to a lead to a small man on the boundary. Continually turned back into play when it was obvious it was the wrong thing to do.

Then again he was a triple dead heat with Ted Richards and Ablett. The only time I sighted Richards was when he fumbled, then fumbled, then fumbled, then fumbled again.

The commentators were a bit harsh on Shaw who I thought worked hard all night.

Jack, what goes on between his ears. Fair dinkum he just doesn't think. Crappy short passes that rarely hit the mark or go anywhere, constant fumbles, field kicking atrocious, and to top it off he runs into an open goal inside 50 and decides to short pass to a man behind his man. No wonder he was behind his man, he had no idea Jack was going to kick in his direction.

Hats off to Kirk, Jolly, J Bolton, Mattner, Goodes in parts, O'Keefe in the 2nd half. White when he was on the ball (not much).

I reckon our efficiency drops 10% when Buchanan plays.

Disappointing - Malceski (soft) Opposition sides have worked him out. MCVeigh, Bird, Meredith, Grundy, Barlow (but teased a bit late) Thornton.

Best game I have ever seen Jude Bolton play.

This club honestly @@@@s me to the back teeth.

We are the only team that could make a bunch of inept ass clowns look first rate, and we do it every time we play them. Every other team in the comp have Freo marked down as the bye this year, Not us. Pathetic.

To think We were served up a brilliant football spectacle in the Pies v Bombers game, with a young determined Essendon team doing everything to lift themselves off the floor and win the game. Just brilliant stuff. The night ahead had a great deal of expectation.

Looking forward to finishing the night with a good consolidating win. Within 10 minutes we are 20 points down and not looking good. By half time, one side has coughed up, clangered, turned over the ball more times than I care to remember and the other side is 7 goals up. The same side that could only kick 4 goals in a whole game last week and the same side who is the laughing stock of the AFL. Think Brisbane Bears and you have a pretty close comparison to the current Dockers. Yet against this very ordinary side Sydney were shown to be as effective as a condom covered penis.

I don't give a @@@@ about second half comebacks. When you are 7 goals down at half time, the game is over. Something aint right. To many players just don't want to put their heads over the ball ( are you listening Barlow, Buchanan, Eski, ROK). We are that bad at the moment we are marvelling at Rhys Shaw being a great pick up. Spare me please. The day Shaw becomes a shining light of the SFC, is the day we should all close the whole thing down because it means the rest of them just aren't trying.

                  Rant over.

Jude and Kirk were great and I thought Goodes, Shaw and McVeigh worked hard.
Meredith did some very nice things.
                        Too many fumbles.
Our centre clearances were terrible in the first half.
ROK is really struggling up forward alone. Looking forward to Baz and MOL getting back to free him up some.

Just realised I could have said ditto to Jeffers post!
One defender short! His name was Ted Richards.

Having said all that, we will probably play great footy next week and spank Richmond off the SCG.

Jeffers hit the nail right on the head about Malceski. His refusal to go to a contest really peeves me. He makes it look like he has a go sometimes by being the last man into a pack.

There is no doubt tonight his refusal to make a contest cost us dearly and it is no point playing him up forward as he refuses to work to keep the ball in our forward line.

I would suggest a couple of his weak efforts tonight were tantamount to squibbing it. By the way he is the 3rd worst kick in the tean after Buchanan and Jack. Even Jude has gone past him in that department.

He is either playing devoid of confidence or all and sundry have overrated him massively.

On another thing; how many goals did we concede by woeful kicks in.

                                Agree with sentiments above.

At 1/2 time the major ball-winners were listed as Buchanan & Bevan...kind of says it all.

Why is it so hard to fix up the kick-ins? And why can't we win 2 in a row?
