Coney wrote himself off when he broke his contract. For a professional sportsman to walk out on a contract is particularly serious (name anyone who has done it recently at an AFL club- Sonny Bill at the ARL) Are you seriously suggesting that with his track record Coney will become a good clubman and team player?
    You're a hard man, Connolly!

I'm amazed I survived my teenage years, so I don't have a problem with a kid getting homesick, then realising a few months later that he's on the best thing of his life with the Swannies.

Maybe what they should do is implant something in the shoulder that has a remote that allows roosy to choose whether the shoulder self destructs if he leaves the club early , therefore putting him back in the same position he was when he arrived.

Of course he can still become a good clubman. I never would have though Plugger would have become a team player for us after the way he smashed us (and Caven) at the SCG. Just wait and see.
We are three players down because three left? As for Plugger I'm not sure he joined the Bloods. I think we all joined him. I'm surprised that no one has suggested we pay Coney back pay for the time he has been with his Mum.

He's a kid and if he has any ticker he'll knuckle down and repay the faith.
Drawing a long bow comparing Coney with Sonny Bill IMO.

He's only coming out so that connolly SC, the Swans' legal counsel, can serve the papers on him.

The case will run for years, go to the High Court and back 3 times, and cost us millions, none of which we will have any hope of recouping even when we get the final pyrrhic victory of having a judgment with $550 compensation (a couple of Swans-logo tracksuits and some long distance phone calls on the club's tab) finally handed down in our favour in 2015. But we will have made a point, gash narn it!

He's worth persevering with. he's regarded as being the best underage talent in Ireland. And as people say he's just a kid. And I bet it wasn't all his idea to go home. Adults would have been behind that one. Three years and we'll all be cheering as he takes a hand pass from Murphy and drills another one. And don't rule out Kennelly being back and extending his contract into next year. He's doing what I would do if I'd promised my father something and since that promise his father's passed away.

Actually Simon i suggested litigating against Tyrone for inducing the breach of contract. Interesting isnt it if Coney really wants come back into the fold he can tell the club what really happened in Belfast in regard to the Tyrone officials getting in his ear. Given that Coney was subsequently injured playing in Ulster after they had encouraged him to walk out on his contract, his development has been disrupted, we will be landed with more medical bills and that damages are at large in inducement to break contracts, we should file in the Supreme Court. Now i realise that all this is a bit taxing for Dick and that he may have to get off his arse and actually do something but our contracts have to be protected. You see Simon its not over until the fat judge sings.

Kennelly is no certainty to make the Kerry panel for the All Ireland playoffs. Not as good as he thought he was in the Gaelic game. He only played it as a junior and Kerry have one of the strongest squads in years.

They pick a panel of 24 players but only 15 get a run. He'll make the panel but may not take the field. Is he still a registered AFL player? Would be good if they don't pick him and he comes back for a game with us this season. Kerry are hard heated shafters so it will be interesting if the Kennelly name gets him a game. The players strike in Cork has been averted and the Rebels will be competative for those who are interested.

I heard they didn't get paid. What are they striking for, less money?

It is Ireland. The Cork hurlers were threatening to strike to remove their manager McCarthy. The football squad would have gone out with them. The Cork officials basically blacklisted the players in retaiation and picked a bunch of neville o'nobodies in their place. 10,000 people marched in protest through Cork in support of the hurlers. McCarthy stepped aside in March this year and peace has been restored to the rebel county. As another matter of interest one of the leaders of the hurlers was the Carlton arse kickers elder brother.

We've written off better talented teenagers before. Unfortunately talent does not translate to being a long term AFL player.
