    Reserves v Queanbeyan

    9.50am Sunday 3rd May

Big match for the Ressies, the winner will the final place in the Top 4, and have a game lead over the loser. The loser will sit with Tuggeranong on 1 win and be chasing the pack for the rest of the season.

Side note: Eastlake remain undefeated after today's big win over Belconnen. Aaron Bruce was named BOG, making it 5 straight games that he was named in the best.

Anyway, I figure the following players will be available:
    • 8) Dan O'Keefe
    • 10) Dan Currie
    • 11) Ed Barlow (in - dropped from seniors)
    • 20) Luke Ablett (in - dropped from seniors)
    • 22) Matt Laidlaw
    • 34) Ryan Brabazon (in - was emergency in Perth last week)
    • 40) Nick Smith
    • 43) Matt O'Dwyer
    • 46) Taylor Gilchrist
    with the following maybes:
    • 4) Dan Hannebery (school commitments?)
    • 28) Jared Crouch (off the injury list but no news during the week)
    • 44) Jake Orreal (missed the last game, apparently with illness, maybe the same illness as White)
and some scholarship player, possibly including
    • 45) Nathan Gordon
    • 50) Jay Lewis
    49) Ryan Bottin-Noonan should be playing with the NSW/ACT Rams in the TAC Cup, so perhaps we could see another of the scholarship group. The May brothers appeared a few times last year.

Outs from last week: Michael O'Loughlin (promotion to the seniors - a young gun I hear), Jarred Moore (apparently did enough last week - back to seniors)

Also, keep an eye out for former Swan and reigning Queanbeyan B&F Mark Powell running around for the Tigers.

IN one of the stories about Pyke this week Roos said White had lost some form and might be dropped anyway. He seems to have made a quick recovery from the unspecified illness.

Good to see Crouch back so quickly.

      Is Barlow playing?

Ablett not playing can only mean...

        Qtr time
        Swans 7.6 48
        Tigers 1.5 11

Goals: Brabazon N.Smith White C.Smith Harry Laidlaw Nesbitt

Currie dominating in the ruck. Brabazon started very well but wasted a few ones at the end. Swans forward line of Orreal/Currie Laidlaw and White causing big problems. Swans tackling much improved over the past two home games.

I hope there's no silly buggers going on with White. He wasn't listed as an emergency, was he? So if he came good we couldn't have put him in anyway.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                  Halftime
                  Swans 12.7 79
                  Tigers 7.9 51

                  Goals: C.Smith 2 N.Smith 2 White Nesbitt Gilchrist Currie Brabazon Harry Laidlaw P'horne (scoreboard says O'Dwyer but I'm sure it's #48)

Swans looked like they would run away with it after kicking 3 of the first 4 goals. But the midfield intensity dropped and Qbeyan took advantage of their physical presence up forward against the young topup defenders by kicking the next 4

Currie still getting the majority of taps but they've negated his work to some extent. Barlow playing with a lot of purpose and confidence

I said in a previous thread that "illness" worries me when I see it on the injury list...added to the eating of pizza ..methinks disciplinary stuff is going on. An "off field illness for White. Please don't be another Ricky Mott!!!

Pleased to see Barlow mentioned with a positive vibe..maybe he is slowly growing in confidence.

I think that is 2 and a half games Laidlaw has got through..fingers crossed.

                          Has hardly been sighted.

                          Game On!
                          Swans 14.10 94
                          Tigers 13.13 91

Currie 2 goals in that qtr
Atrocious turnovers by the Swannies. We will lose if we put out another quarter like that. Going to need to score a lot of goals because Armstrong and Kavanagh are too strong for their topup opponents.
