    Cheer Squad?

We were wondering. Do we still have a Cheer Squad? Not meaning to be rude or anything, but....where were they! When a chant finally went up it was from up our end. Sorry people, that was poor

I can assure you I was cheering as loudly as possible.

It was a bit of a ho hum game though. Standard SCG atmosphere. Maybe people weren't expecting much of a show from the Tigers and got a bit of a fright by how close the game became?

No offence mate but it really looked horrible today. So many empty seats in the area these days. It must depress the players seeing the area of official club support so empty so often.

At least they found the big flags again, I guess. Those who ARE there every week, keep holding up the fort. Because I know what an uphill battle you guys have.

What really sucks is that we are no longer allowed to use the floggers!

I know you love the swamp but really, the SCG has a far better atmosphere

I think the start time is the problem. Not enough of the amber ale consumed pre match.

                      Apparently.
I won't give up though! I'll still try and sneak them into our next game there.

What we need is people to join the cheer squad not criticise.
Come and join in the slog of making banners from start to finish.
Come and log a heavy banner on your shoulders and see if you have the energy to criticise us.

We are very few in number and would very much welcome anyone willing to put "in the hard yards" as we say and use their muscles and arms and legs preparing banners and hold them up against all odds with rain and wind.

then the few of us go and sit in the cheer squad alloted area.

Which is not well situated - take a look at it from anywhere in the scg and you will see it is on a bad angle for even viewing of even for the camera to get a shot of.

There is not many of us at all and then we hear how bad we are - well volume is only added by numbers. Not just on game day. We give up weekends to prepare for each game day banner as well as making banners for Canberra and Brisbane games and promotional banners.

So next time you feel it is not big enough or cheering maybe come and offer to join and bring some friends/mates with you. - you are always very welcome

There's only one reason I don't join the Cheer Squad, and that's because I sit with my family at the game on the wing. Is it possible to help make the banner during the week without joining the squad?

Of course you can help with banner making - but you have to have cheer squad membership - it does not mean you have to sit with us but membership is important to be able to access areas where banners are made.
