Richo out for a couple of months

Could this be it for him? Hopefully not, but a real pity for him....

Surgery to put Richo out for 8-12 weeks - AFL.com.au

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Had Richo been firing, we probably would've lost.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

No direspect to Richo, but he should not have been playing. you could clearly see he was not 100% fit.

He definitely shouldn't have played. Wonder if this will be it for him... you'd almost prefer him to go out now while he's still been playing some good footy, he was quite brilliant at times last year. Heard it mentioned somewhere that he's the heart and soul of the team just as much as his goalkicking can break the team's heart. Still a champ though.

The photo gallery of him on the terror is a bit of a giggle. Just the face when he hasn't kicked the winning goal makes any footy fan smile.

I've got a lot of respect for a bloke like Richo. The Tigers have had very limited success and I would think he's played very few finals matches. He probably could have achieved a lot more at other clubs and you would never question his loyalty. I see he's got 282 matches under his belt so it will be very interesting to see whether he will get to 300. He couldn't have reached it this year in any event. It's an amazing stat to think he's the oldest player going around in the AFL at the moment.

Bad luck to Richo, I hope he does get to 300 games and maybe he might get to play finals again when he retires.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

He needed 1 goal for 800, so it may possibly have been motivation for him to declare himself fit when he obviously wasn't. I sort of doubt Richo would think like that, but if he knew the injury was as serious as it obviously is, maybe he knew he may very well be playing his last game ever and wanted to complete the 800 goal milestone last Sunday.

That said, the celebration was very understated for his 800th, I doubt more than a handful of people even knew.

I suspect it will be the same for MOL who is sitting on 499. If he kicks a goal at sleepy hollow tomorrow, it will probably be met with a yawn. If we are getting pumped and he is goalless, I for one will be hoping he doesn't get one so we can give him the applause the 500th goal milestone deserves in Sydney over the next 2 home games.

I'd much prefer him to kick his 505th at Geelong tomorrow.
