    Aftermatch Functions 2009

After being told that we're only having aftermatch functions at the SCG on the Saturday/Sunday arvo games, our last aftermatch function will be on July 11 after the Essendon game.

For those of us to like to go to these functions, that's a bit disappointing.

Does anyone know of any special reason why we're "ending" our season in the middle of the year?

Can management answer if they're reading this?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Won't it be down to the fact that we have no more home day games?

Yeah, but why don't they hold the functions after the night games?
I've been to almost every one of them for quite a few years ... even when we lose (yes, I don't have much of a life).

Hate to say it, but I agree with Annie.... The after match functions are one of the things that make you want to be a member.....

Thanks pal. I know it hurts you to agree with me.
The aftermatch is a hoot. Besides, it's the only place in the SCG that still serves grog after 3/4 time!!
Where else can you ask the important questions like is Goodesy injured (asked after EVERY a/m this year), what's the matter with ROK (doesn't he like playing for us) and whatever happened to the rover's job.

I agree. I love the aftermatch, it used to rock, but.... I guess footy is now a big business and the little people (which in my case is a bit of a misnomer, I haven't been little in too many years) get pushed out. They want us at the Cross, and for me that is just not an option. Also the numbers have dropped off because of the lack of interest in us from the Club, which is a shame. I just love watching Snapper in action.
