    Schneider

Little Schnieds must be so wrapped with life at The Saints.I watched him closely last night and the delivery he gets is unbelievable and he is looked for and honoured with passes into the forward line.
Actually when watching last night I realised just how difficult it is for our forwards to get the ball as it is usually just bombed into the forward line and hoped for the best.
Schnieder has a great chance to get another premiership medal around his neck.Good luck to him.

he is playing well and Lyons is getting the best out of him it seems. Good luck to him - we tossed him out (inexplicably), saints took him in and look at the result.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

        He kicked 4 last night.

When do St Kilda and Geelong play ... Round 16 or something??

Yes it would be handy to have him buzzing around our forward line at the moment. We are lacking a fast crumbing option down there

I was heartbroken when we traded him. Thought it was a big mistake. But, good on him for having a good season and great opportunities (except when he's playing the Swans, of course).

He did play well and looked very comfortable - have to check how he performed in the fantasy team results.

I couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret at the colour of his jersey

We didn't use Schneider often enough in the crumbing role.
                And Dempster is still injured.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He got traded because he was fat and lazy in his last year at the Swans. We also have a LOT of players like him - Vez, Jack, Bevo, Buchanan who can all do his role.
As happens with a lot of players, the change in coach and team has rejuvenated him and he has his passion back - he looks very fit and back to his old self. Maybe that's because he got the kick up the jaxy he needed.
We made the right decision for club and player in trading him. I wish him only the best and if it comes down to Cats/Saints granny I'll be cheering for Schneids and Molly.

You are right. He was frustrating and inconsistent. But two years down the track it is a legitimate debate why a player in his early 20s with plenty of upside was traded while others who were older with less upside were kept on the list (and given larger contracts).

Hmmm, sounds like a good argument for laying off Bevo.

I was thinking this a cple of weeks ago. Schneider or Buchanan, Who would you rather have?? IIRC, we traded Schneider as we simply diodn't need both him and Buchanan (Well that was the logic at the time). At this stage you'd have to say that we should of kept Schneider over Buchanan but I think there may be more to the story yet. Though Schneider is shading him at the moment, Buchanan is down (But improving over the last cple of weeks I think) but not yet out. We may very well be talking about what a wise decision it was to keep Buchanan in the not so distant future.

Schneids had a good one last night, but as for us, his best has been sporadically delivered. He has been there two years and it is only after last night he is getting a (fully deserved) rave review. Prior to that, the sound of crickets on a summer night at Moorabin were louder than any wraps on Schneids.

Like most, I was sad to see him traded (despite the flaws) and have watched him fairly consistently over his journey with the saints. Unfortunately, the same flaws have been evident - poor decision making under pressure (actually, that has him fitting in very well with us at the moment, but I digress), blowing up after a few good hard runs, and shanking too many gettable shots at goal. Last night it all clicked and he looked a million dollars, but then, all the Saints did IMO.

Anyway, it's good to see him getting plaudits and he did play well last night. Lets see if it takes until Round 15 or so for it to happen again - if it happens a couple of times before then, perhaps we can say he is finally delivering on his potential.
