    New Coach

I would just like to comment on the improved kicking for goal of Jude Bolton.

I wonder if it is the work of the new Pommy coach who does that improvement of skills stuff.

I used to one of Jude's biggest critics as regards his goal kicking..have never criticised all the other gutsy stuff. He would miss easy shots and then do exactly the same thing again. He was just re-inforcing the same mistake and mind set.

Now He has become a player that shoots for goal with reliabilty and I don't have to hide my head in my hands when he is lining up.

Goosey has improved also in this area. Maybe this new fellow is earning his money.

In general, set shots were excellent last night. Very purposeful and confident approach and most never looked like missing.

I love it when the typo creates a new word. "Anotherwise" - brilliant.

        ORB - anotherwise man?

I think Jude's set shot kicking over the length of his career is being a little maligned here. Up until that 2006 GF, I'd always thought him a pretty reliable set shot at goal. He was woeful in this department for 2007 but last year recovered his ability to convert well and has nailed most of his chances so far this season.

Do agree on the improvement in Goodes. Used to watch him and think he was a 50-50 proposition but his accuracy this year, sometimes from difficult angles, has been impressive.

            Ditto for Satch's "Goosey"!
Otherwise I must say that I shared her reaction to Jude lining up for goal, usually thinking "Not the one I would've picked." And I think he has got better. Pleased to see it in one of my all time favourite players.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I actually said to one of the kids last night, "we'll be lucky if he scores a point", when Jude lined up from 45 degrees. Jude will be pleased to know that when he slotted it I was duly punched in the arm and called an idiot.

Funny innit. I always believe Jude will get the goal..don't know why. Can always find an excluse if he misses. I am pretty good at "knowing" when the guys are 2 metres outside their max range, but recently my "knowing" in regard to Micky and Goodsey has been spot off! And again, Bulldog will be just fine one day, if the Pommy gets hold of him.

I'm sure you would be used to that by now
