I don't think anyone has said he's not up to it, just that he's been struggling.

        Krakouer out, Ebert in doubt

Also interesting to note that despite Sydney's inclement weather they will bring a tall (albeit a skilled one) in Westhoff as their travelling emergency.
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

Are you thinking of the wrong Westhoff Claret? I haven't seen much at all of the younger one.

Ebert is an unusual small forward. Gets a lot of possessions from marks. Poor tackler and not much good in tight. Westhoff is entirely one dimensional. Just takes marks. If Westhoff and Tredders line up together in the rain the ball once it hits the deck won't be contested. Tredders can't bend and Westhoff won't. Shaw and Mattner could have a day out.

Yes,Ebert does play tall, especially for a bloke his size.He needs to be closely tagged as he tends to find space easily as well.

The stage is set for Malceski. Port are a pretty weak tackling mob, who like it played out in the open. If Malceski plays 40 metres in front of our half backs he should get a torrent of opportunities. Last time we played this mob of pretenders our half back line of Kennelly, Mattner and CB got about 80 rebounding possessions out of the backline. The Port Power forwards just don't tackle. Poor old Tredders should be on the disability pension and has more needles in him before his performances than Keith Richard. Mattner must just love playing this mob as he carves them up every time. His own personal derby perhaps.

It sounds like he found some form, and - when in form - he is comfortably inside our best 22.

With a chance to edge our way back into the eight with a positive win-loss record, I believe he's the perfect man to come back into this side.

Hope he gets his chance and proves all the doubters wrong.

He's trying to do what WC did (almost to their success) and stretch our backline for height. I know we play @@@@ in the wet, but, especially if LRT doesn't pull up in the end, it could be a blessing in disguise.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

The forcast is for a shower or two. Which in Sydney more often than not means dry. Also the SCG dries incredibly fast. I'm expecting a dry track.
