    Moore's game

I like this guys style of play how he puts himself online and gains possession but if ever he was going to kick a bag of goals and dominate it was yesterday when the team was firing.Instead we saw stuff ups and very gettable goals missed when a)He should have kicked them
b)The handpass was on for someone in a better position
It didn't matter against Port but this kind of thing could cost us the game against better sides and is an aspect Moore needs to improve as he is a great ball getter. I am confident he can take the next step and be our next McVeigh

I bagged him last week but thought he had a much better game yesterday - at least he was getting in the right positions a lot more (still not as much as I'd like). Still missing shots that a bloke hoping to make a livelihood out of being a frwd pocket shouldn't miss, and even the goal he kicked, while an excellent effort, wasn't technically correct (kicking right across his body).

Jury still out but a better effort at least.

He is a fwd and therefore, IMHO, entitled to have a ping when he feeld the need.

However, I know exactly what you mean. Missed a cple of "gettable" goals and should of handed off a couple of times rather then pinging away with low percentage chances. Then again, had he nailed them he could of easily kicked 5 and we'd be calling him the best thing since Leon davis.

Yep. Thought he was pretty good despite those gettable goals.

Well, no-one could possible miss Schneider whilst we've got Moore,
missing "Gettable" goals was Schneider's trademark and Moore has picked up the tradition admirably!

veru true that, as good as Schneider was/is, and I would love to have at the swans still, apart from his first couple of seasons, there were plenty of gettable goals that he would consistently miss.

I agree - his effort was great yesterday. Just work on the goalkicking accuracy and he'd be a star. He's probably my favourite of the newcomers.

He puts his brick over the ball, positions well and has a very strong hunch and straddle over the ball. However, there are some things about him that are a worry at the moment. He has lost his one grab and fumbled yesterday. On one occasion he was back in primary school playing tunnell ball. And the selfishness. That is a real worry. Players that don't play for each other don't play at the Bloods.

Moore will come good. He struggled early in the year, and it looks to me like he's trying to force himself into some form. He's trying to do this by getting hungrier for the ball, with the unintended consequence being that he's getting a bit selfish once he does have the ball. He's worked so hard to win it that he wants to make the most of it. Overall, it's working, and his form has steadily been improving. Once he gets confident that his form is back, he'll probably feel more comfortable not having to show it every time he touches the ball, and will more likely choose the team option.

I had to watch the replay twice to check that it was Moore sprinting to the line with his opponent to defend.I didn't know he was capable of that turn of speed. It was good to see him play most of the game too.I like his awareness, something Bird definately needs to work on poor bugger.

Did a couple of good things, but dropped some easy marks overhead that really let the team down.

Has a lot more work to do before becoming a good all-round footballer..

Puzzles me - I think he's normally a good mark.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Puzzles me too.Something Moore does have is a strong body and sure hands.Overhead marking is not really his thing when he has MOL and BBB around he would clearly get in their way at the contest and they wouldn't be happy..I have seen the occassional one or two over the season but didn't notice any attempts on Sunday.

                              You mean like:
                              1. Going back into packs and holding strong pack marks in the channel?
                              2. quarterbacking?
                              3. coralling?
                              4.tackling ferociously?
                              5 running the lines?
                              6. playing up forward?
                              7. playing back?
                              8. playing small?
                              9. playing tall?
                              10. putting the team before himself?
                              11. tackling two players at the same time?
                              12. dishing off the lookaway with pin point accuracy before being creamed by a bigger opponent?
                              13. ice cool in front of the sticks and never missing?
                              14. the one percenters, .05 percenters and always giving 110 per cent;
15 modest and unassuming despite prodigous talent?
                              16. being cute!!! while under enormous post match pressure?
                              17. doing the team thing by always standing next to Kenny Williams during the team song?

Come to think of it is a very tall order for a young kid. He does have a way to go
