With O'Keefe in the midfield, earning his vast remuneration at last, Ablett seems to be playing more in the forward line as a defensive forward. The point is that Thornton is clearly a better kick, great pack mark (and don't we need that on the half forward line) and is quicker. Thornton gives us a target and avenue to goal on the 50 metre arc. If Ablett was playing as a genuine midfilelder fair enough but he hasn't been. I also query his fitness for a full midfield role.

A fringe best 22 player out injured for a week or 2 - they always seem to come back in without qn. I'd certainly have LRT in our best 22, but I simply don't see where we'll play him this week given the Dogs' forward line.

Perversely, the Age match preview suggests the Dogs will be able to cover our forward line but we'll have trouble matching theirs.

Just read that preview and they've now convinced me the Swans can win.

Lake & Morris are very good defenders no doubt and Hargrave is a pretty good in but I'd prefer to be our defensive coach than theirs this week - plenty of headaches for them.

Last year I recall Lake had a really interesting technique for playing Hall, but I'm struggling to remember what it was - borderline legal I think but it worked a treat. Does anyone remember that?

I dunno about Hahn-Richards. Hahn, I think, is very strong and could hold off Teddy. But, then again the Minson-Hyphen match up looks right.
I s'pose it comes down to whether they are in the goal square or on the 50. I can see B2 playing out of the goal square and running off whoever is there.

Hahn was the match winner for them in the SCG game, a revelation. From all reports tho, he's been having an ordinary year to date. But agree he's an important match - expect B2 to stand him at some point.

He was pushing him off/under the ball with his hips. Dry humped him every contest.

Morris had a really hard time with Johnson last week. Johnson kept sticking his but right out and taking the ball reaching forward with his arms.
It looked ridiculous but did the trick. IIRC Johnson got two frees agst Morris for holding as he was trying to reach around and spoil.
Let's match morris up on someone with really long arms and a big butt. Maybe ROK could play FF?

Hmmm.... Didn't see this game but it sure sounds to me like Morris approached the contest a lot like RWO newcomer Puppy Eyes used to do back in the day.

What every coach says to do when teaching how to mark. It was an exhibition, to be sure.
