If you want to work out the finals permutations, have a go at this

Go to http://www.allthestats.com/stats/ladderpredict.asp then click on the teams you think will win, and it will predict the final ladder.
    From there - 1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd, 5th v 8th, 6th v 7th.

My tips - Essendon, St Kilda, Sydney, Brisbane, West Coast, Port Adelaide, Kangaroos, Hawthorn.

Which makes my first round of finals:
Port Adelaide v West Coast (Football Park)
    Brisbane v Collingwood (Gabba)
    Sydney v Fremantle (Stadium Australia)
    Essendon v Adelaide (MCG)

    Possible final laddders range from....

    Port Adelaide 72
    Sydney 56
    Collingwood 56
    Essendon 56
    Fremantle 56
    Brisbane Lions 54
    Adelaide 52
    West Coast Eagles 52
    ---------------------
    Hawthorn 48
    St Kilda 48
    Kangaroos 42
    Richmond 28
    Geelong 26
    Melbourne 20
    Carlton 20
    Western Bulldogs18

    ...to....

    Port Adelaide 68
    Brisbane Lions 58
    Adelaide 56
    West Coast Eagles 56
    Essendon 56
    Sydney 56
    Collingwood 56
    Fremantle 52
    -------------
    Hawthorn 48
    Kangaroos 46
    St Kilda 44
    Geelong 30
    Richmond 28
    Melbourne 20
    Carlton 16
    Western Bulldogs 14

....and many points in between. Basically any place from 2-8 is up for grabs by almost any team currently in those places. Collingwood (currently 2nd) can finish as low as 7th and Freo (8th) can get to 2nd (mathematically anyway)!

What I like about these two possibilities in particular though is that both feature a R21 replay at StadeOz but (I believe) with a different result and the crowd even BIGGER (all seats must be paid for - no season tickets - so very few "no shows")

BTW Sydney getting ahead of Collingwood requires the Bombers to win by about 12 goals (not impossible, though unlikely) with Sydney winning by the the same or greater margin (also not impossible) to keep ahead of the Bombers. The other placings will be decided by win/loss unless monstrous winning margins occur.

A draw separates Brisbane from the rest anyway.
