I know I bitch a lot about the Swans TV coverage in Victoria, but....

.... I have to say, it's not all bad.

Today I checked out the TV times, and as expected, the AFL are saving me a trip to the MCG to sit in the cold and financially support my club.

I was totally prepared to make a day of it with the kids - you know, to keep them interested and excited about football, but it can be a pain with parking, public transport , exorbitant food prices etc.

Thank god the AFL have let common sense prevail and decided to televise what is almost certain to be a sell out game.
Now we can watch the game on TV and order in pizza.

I agree with most of this CTSm but I doubt a Swans/Hawks game @ the G would ever be a sell out, barring a GF of course.

This what sucks about the TV coverage.
The 2nd time the swans have played In Melbourne, and the 2nd time it is on TV. The Geelong game wasn't, so why put the Melbourne games on.
Too much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in the TV deals for the AFL to care about crowds at games, anymore.

Good luck to you CTS. Think of me and the rest of the idiots freezing our tits off, whist you're sitting back in your warm comfortable home!!

As Tassie is considered to be a suburbof Melbourne by Telstra, TV stations etc we have the bonus of being able to watch it in frontof a roaring fire and not have to spend a fortune in airfares.

        Freeze those tits off Scott

How did you pick up on the rest of the sarcasm in my post and not that bit?
I would suggest that games should only be televised live into the city in which there are being held if they are sold out.
Many will disagree, but as far as I'm concerned if you don't wanna go, you should,'t be able to see it.
Maybe 24 hours later late at night for those who couldn't make the game for reasons beyond their control.
Geelong I consider to be too far away to be considered a Melbourne game.

            Our central heating is down.
And since over the last month I've spent 2 weeks overseas and one week interstate, I haven't had time to check it out and arrange quotes.
I'll fix it next week though before my wife kills me
I guess we can put two TV's on.
One for the kids in the family room and one in the bedroom under the nice warm doona for some football sex

It's not football if you're not sitting in the pouring rain watching your team getting flogged and still jeering that p**** on the other team every time he gets near the ball.

We so rarely get to see a game live ... don't count Geelong ... this is only the second of the year.
Need to be able to clearly express my opinion to the umpires more regularly ...how will they learn from their mistakes otherwise ?
A cold , possibly wet day at the G ... football at its most real.
                    Go Swans

For sure the football will be first. The football is only a couple of hours long.

I think now I am going to open a bottle of something.
My ex wife has been a total bitch today and really pissed me off.
