BTW, not mentioned (probably because the cameras were stationed on the Hawks bench for 50% of the game) but Crouch didn't come back after going off in the 3rd? quarter

I noticed both aspects of this. (1) Crouch wasn't sighted after that injury and (2) the cameras seemed to be on the Hawks bench far too often. We didn't even see the McVeigh goal due to that fact.
And on the same subject, for much of the game I wondered (from the commentary) whether there were two teams playing. It was all Hawthorn, Hawthorn, Hawthorn. Even Dennis made a couple of what I thought were biased comments.
Back to B2, I remember he slammed his first to the ground after the marking contest. At the time, I thought it was because he was disappointed at letting Buddy mark the ball, but I wonder if it was more frustation due to knowing it was a serious injury? BTW, no mention of it in Roos's press conference, 80% of which was about Hall.
WHat the did great serene one have to say about Barry?
Paraphrasing:
Q: Did you think the game swung on the 3 50m penalties?
A: What did you think? Yes, it was clearly the massive turning point in the game.
Q: Did you manage to talk to Barry?
A: No, I knew the cameras were on me and would make a big deal out of it. What do you say, y'know? I think some of the players have had a word to him.
Q: Are you disappointed after all the work the club has put into him that he has regressed?
A: To put it into perspective I don't think it was as bad as what he did last year. Surprising, because he's been in good form, and we've been doing really well as a team, and the momentum was with us. Clearly it's disappointing.
Q: Where do you see Barry's future?
A: It's only just after the game, so we need to have a look at the tape and see whether it's an overreaction. I respect the umpires and I trust they made the right calls at the right time.
Q: Do you think Barry has been mistreated by the umpires?
A: Clearly there's been some frustration at times, and he's not getting free kicks he should and we have addressed this with the umpirse. But clearly we know nothing has changed and nothing will change so we'll have to adjust and play accordingly.
LOL @ the first question. Journos have no clue sometimes... even Ch 7 made a big deal of the fact that Roos ignored Hall when he came off - of course he's not going to tear strips off Barry when the cameras are on him! Roosy is far too smart for the lot of them!!
Roos said at the aftermatch that he was unsure on Craigs condition. He did not attend the function. Crouch did however and seemed ok to me just a knock to the knee!
