with barry hall likely to retire at the end of the year, it's time that Goodes should play as a full forward, he is capable of kicking a bag of goals and he is so hard to match up on. welcome your thoughts.
it's time to put Goodes up forward

With Goodes out of the midfield the forward line would get less ball than it does now. If you want Goodes out of the middle put him down the back - at least that way he will have plenty of opportunities to get his hands on the pill. -
It is a bit like the days of Buckley at The Filth. He needed to kick out to himself in the centre of the ground and then kick to himself in the forward line.

A couple of weeks back on SEN they had a discussion around a team of 22 clones of one player and the consensus seemed to be 22 Adam Goodes would beat 22 of any other one player just because of his versatility. So yes, get the cloning happening!!!

Has he sorted out is girl troubles?? At the very least, he needs to start breeding. Could someone hook him up with a netball player... Bianca Franklin perhaps.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Goodes is an option, but Jolly is looking more and more like a Paul Salmon when he goes forward. He and White are both at home there, so perhaps it is time to return to the old formula of a resting ruckman in the forward pocket?10100111001 ;-)Comment

Playing Goodes as a permanent forward is a waste. Throw him there when he's not getting his way around the ground, throw him there when it's a clear handy matchup and it'll stretch the defence... otherwise wait another couple of years.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Your right and your point illustrates that despite all the "mid fielder types" we have, without Goodes there the ball would only come forward from backline clearances most of the time. The idea of turing the double Brownlow medallist into aKPP in the forward line has a lot of merit however. It's either get a strong midfielder(eg Kerr) that can get the ball down to Goodes or keep Goodes where he is and get a classy forward to finish off the hard work of the "cortinas"Comment

I suspect the groin problem has flared or he has sheila problems again. Mind doesn't quite seem right at the mo.
I reckon that with the demise of the man with white line fever, Goodes is the best option in front of the sticks. It makes other sides think really hard about how and who they man up on him and throws us a different dimension up front.Comment

goodes has repeatedly been played as a kpp in the forward line and he doesn't cut it - freo aside - he is a good mark against undersized midfielders - he is not a good mark against genuine kpp defenders
he is our only true player that can take a ball out of a pack and run past players - why waste that ?Comment

Bit of a pavlich situation we need two of him.
I personally like how they manage him now spending time in the midfield and floating forward so snag some sausage rolls he's kicked 21 this year. Maybe without Bazza and micky o he should go forward a bit more to help but he is most productive as a midfielder.
We are just going t have to suffer a bit while johston and white develop into good forwardsComment
