I think it was well explained in her following sentences. Agnostic - lack of knowledge, or as applied in this case an uncertainty as to where Thornton's best position is. As opposed to atheistic, which is a lack of belief.

There were reports that Thornton was being earmarked for a half back spot last year before he did his knee. But in his senior games to date, he's played mostly up forward, and taken some excellent marks. So it probably means he'll be our next ruckman

It shouldn't be forgotten that he has comeback from a knee reco' straight into seniors this year. Even seasoned players take time to hit their straps again after a reco'. Given this, I think he has shown more than enough this year and I would be extremely surprised ( and dissapointed) if they let him go.

        Um. No.
He's signed on for another four years (which, I allege, includes a hit at the captaincy).
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

          From the original list

          Retirees :
          Kennelly
          Fosdike
          O'loughlin
          Barry
          Crouch

          Possible trade or delist :
          Ablett
          Buchanan
          Moore

          Delist:
          O'Dwyer
          Brabazon
          Coney

I think that if we have as many as 10 or eleven off the list , swans will trade again for at least another 1 or 2 from other clubs leaving still 8-9 to come via the draft or rookie draft.

Have to consider rookie promotions as well Murphy has had 2 years so he will get a promotion Thornton and Orreal are a chance too.

interesting to see how it pans out.
as has been said the draft isn't looking all that deep this year.
if we going to draft some kids i would be looking at WAFL or SANFL players.
they regularly play against men and can jump straight into the AFL system.
Vic players haven't had that luxury, hence why some of the WAFL boys especially have done so well.

Crouchy needs to retire i think before he gets past it, sure he might be able to go around again, but at what expense, sometimes you need to leave on your terms not at the hands of some young bucks who can just outpace you.

              I would be trading
              Ablett
Barlow ( something about him makes me think he wil never realise his potential)
Buchannan (hate saying it) but if he wants to be traded i would trade him.
Moore (if he cant get his endurance up)
Playfair i would either trade or delist

If Kennelly gets his All Ireland final i would keep him on the list if he wants to come back and stick him in the forward line (big If i know)

and then any of the yngr brigade who ahve been aROUND A FEW YEARS.

DOK if he cant get his body right which is unfortunate

                Delistings:

                Retired or Ireland or Boxing

                Hall - Gone
                Barry
                O'Loughlin
                Crouch
                Fosdike
                Kennelley
                Coney

                Pushed Out or traded

                Playfair
                Ablett

Thats 8 spots on the list with maybe a couple of rookie promotions that would leave us with 6 picks in the ND its unfortunate we didnt take more picks in last years super strong draft because the talent wont run as deep this year

                    Shallow draft this year.

With the spots left over for Fosdike and possibly Kennelly and the probable 5 retirements and Playfair to go due to injury, can't see us doing more than 5 trades in the draft.

Therefore guys like Schmidt. DOK, Laidlaw who have all had repeated injuries will most certainly be retained.

We are going to need to keep a number of these guys who have had 3 or 4 years on the list for squad depth as we can't expect to have the 5 draft picks from this year to play straight away.
