Is there beer in the Eski?

Sunday would have to rate as Malceski's best game all year IMO. He looked much sharper and attacked the ball and contest much more aggressively.
A couple of times I was worried he wasn't going to get up after getting crunched (and I expected a few frees - alas! alack..same old).

    Do others feel the same?

There was a glimmer of his old self. I really hope this is a step in the resurrection of one very talented footballer.

A glimmer was about it, knickers.
Very sad to see him underperforming so badly.

I agree, and hope to see more improvement from him. One TV commentator pointed out as he went into a pack in the centre, IIRC fairly early on in the game, that his knee would have been given a stern test.

Whether it was a test on the knee or his confidence only he can really know, but he did seem to get into the game more and we saw a bit more of the player of past years.

I am glad that they have persisted with him in the ones. I feel there's little point dropping him back to the Canberra league where he can run amuck in games of lower intensity.

I'll admit, he still has a long way to go though...

He'll be back, we've seen his talent and he's just very much down on confidence. We'll see a McVeigh type turn around in 2010

He went into a couple of fairly tough contests and didn't seem to be concerned about the knee, which is wonderful. I agree that it was his best game of the year.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It frustrates me why the coaches don't play Malceski off the half-back line. He won an All-Australian 40 squad nomination there in 2007 and looked as though that role was to be persisted with in his short spell in that pre-season game 2008.

He goes back to the reserves, plays midfield or behind the ball, racks up tons of possessions and plays well as you would expect. Comes back to the seniors, on and off the bench, playing in an unfamiliar role up forward, no wonder the guy has no confidence.

He is a tough minded individual. I know he will persist and get back to his best. I have rarely seen him hang his head.

A few XXXXs (or #@*%s) is all I can see at this stage. Next year he will be at the crossroads if he doesn't find his mojo.

RWO beer education not too good - Pure Blonde is classed as a full strength beer.
