Kinda. I honestly think that Roos is not the coach to lead a young group. I think a new coach is needed, and I would be talking to Buckley or someone about taking over. Longmire I think is not the best option. Need a new coach who can change things around and not try crappy experiments on player positions (AKA, Richards and LRT in the forward line and Grundy up foward). Thought Veszpa looked quite comfortable moving around up forward but also in the mid. Maybe a half forward role for him.

Just voicing my opinion. We are terribly weak in the backline, Bolton is a rock, however LRT and Richards are going to be a couple of risky fumbling blokes wherever they play, always thought that they cost too many goals in comparison to how many they save. Putting them up forward was an absolute mistake. The lack of Barry Halls presence in the forward line is so bleeding obvious, our whole structure is flawed. Very upset to see the swans playing like a bunch of chooks with their heads cut off. No structure and no conviction.

It was about as I expected.
Good to see the younger guys getting a game and they all showed glimpses of what they are capable of.
I thought the effort was there but they looked like a team that need more time together to to play team football rather than just bombing and hope.
Liked Vespremi, Barlow,Bevan, thought N Smith did ok, Grundy, Bird.
Agree Ablett and maybe Crouch need to be dropped.
All in all just happy we are playing some kids and getting game time into them

We look ragged old & tired, especially coming out of defence. Goodes' game had moments of brilliance but moments that generally annoyed me as well where he tried to be too cute.
Can we seriously get rid of Ted Richards? The guy is a complete waste of space as a footballer. At least with players like LRT you know what you are going to get. With him I expect monumental stuff-ups, especially from set shots.

BTW, based on first half only, but was Richards crap today or what.
He seems to be suffering from a confidence / skills / intelligence / pace / kicking / marking / running / sliding / leading / tackling / thinking / walking / talking / eating / handballing / breathing deficit.
Is he necrotic? He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

We had opportunities at the bveginning of the 2nd & 3rd quarters to get a couple of goals. We were playing our stoppage-based footy as well. Micky missed a horror shot in the 2nd quarter & the Dons staved off our 10 minutes of intensity. I knew the game was shot there & then.

crouch should of retired about 2 years ago he is a dud.
I dont mind losing and rebuilding, but if i have to watch that waste of space much longer ill spew.
Goodes was annoying today, looked capable of taking the game apart and never did. We leave the hard work to too few. I think lrt should be left in the backline, didnt mind barlow up forward though.
How much game time did veszpremi get, i didnt notice him til late in the game.Theres not much left to sayComment

In over 55 years I have seen a lot of poor Swans sides with the occasional star & a sole premiership to keep me coming back for more...but this is a real low point...perhaps the one we have to have. Just hope enough of the fickle Sydney public hang in enough to ensure there is still one side...let alone two!
All year it has been obvious that we have low skills, little pace, & an awful lack of balance...& that is not going to change overnight. There is not room in a modern successful team for 3 lumberers with low skills / little pace, but they have a lot of mates. I don't have to name them.
Perhaps we all see no future for Ablett & Crouch, & frankly Pyke (what a curious replacement for McVeigh) but am I the only one who sees no future for indecisive Mattner, brave but slow Bevan? Shaw gets the ball a lot but the error rate is starting to build...those kick outs to nowhere got a bit tiring. Malceski is not a patch on the player pre injury...sad to watch.
Don't know what to make of Bird week in week out & Vezpremi has not convinced me yet, Barlow is scarey but at least has energy, Jolly seemed to be somewhere else a lot of the time (taken apart by Ryder), Goodes has always been capable of the sublime & the ridiculous, Magic can't kick, Bolton is tired (both if you like), Kirk is glorious in defeat as always, but cannot carry this mob over too many lines. Buchanan & Moore have disappeared & are but the first of many that don't have it in them to get us to another title unless as support players to about 6 number one picks. Leo should stay where he is, perhaps I missed a retirement announcement.
ROK was great...sorry to be so negative...but it helps to put it on paper sometimes.Comment

I agree with you, though its very hard when you lack a key forward. Again, we need a couple of forwards in there, and Pyke needs to play in the ressies and needs a pre-season before coming to play for us again. Looked lost, and doesn't have good skills which is what we need.

As bad as it comes. There was no strucure going into the game and you would think after Hall getting the lemonade, it would be the first thing a coaching panel would try to work on.
Clearly they made a monumental error by leaving White out completely turning the side upside down by not creating a structure. I cannot believe how bad Crouch, Ablett and Malceski were. You can forgive Pyke but if ever there was wake up call for the coaches this was it. However, after the 2's report Buchy is bound to get a recall.
I cannot believe how bad our forward line pressure was. They just took it away with ease. We didn't run to space and just did the lazy stuff and sat off their man. In the last Q Lucas picked up the ball and was tackled and Crouch should have wrapped him up but just stopped and let him handball over his head.
Complete lack of accountability by many.
Barlow does some good things but is riddled with poor decisions and slow thinking.
Goodes, Bevan, Jack, ROK and Jolly were good but not many more. Craig Bolton for the first time ever looked disspirited.Comment

Disagree there. Bird was decent and went hard at the footy. Veszpa was good, and set up at least 2-3 goals and scored 2. Barlow was also good, skills were good. You can't expect alot from Barlow and Veszpa when the kicking into the forward line is shocking, and are just bombs. Both boltons were good BUT Craig looks a bit slow and I think that knee injury has done something to him. Mattner
and bevan were also tough at the footy. Its extremely hard to win a game of footy when ur foward line is depleted and it destroys ur whole team structure. Hall out meant richards and lrt had to go forward, which ruined our backline and forward line. Pyke was also rubbish.Comment

I asked Ryan O'Keefe after the kick-outs at at after match. He said that teams flood the corridor so we HAVE to go wide. Um, teams like Western Bulldogs sure don't. They play on quickly & directly after kick-outs & have the pace and ability to hit targets. We don't, not helped by being placed under pressure & by having to go wide all the time.

i would of liked to see goodes or even jolly play out of the goal square before lrt or richards went forward.
LRT has developed into a reasonable defender i wouldnt mess around too much with his role in the side.
Pyke in for mcveigh on a wet track, what the hell sort of selection is thatTheres not much left to sayComment
