Hey, Reggie used to kick bags for fun and now he's being used at CHB! Vogels too used to kick his fair share and spent some time down back.

      • Worst performance of the last 4-5 weeks, given it was at home. Whether it was the 6 vs 8 day break not sure. Looked off the pace today which haven't over the last month of footy, which was disappointing.
      • Better players struggled, they looked like they were tired today. Tried hard, but looked tired.
      • On Jesse White - He probably would have played today, but he had the flu on Wednesday. Trained a bit but looked ordinary at training. It wasn't a form thing. Played well in the reserves in spite of this.
      • Loved Grundy's game, only moved him to try and spark something. Also thought Jack was good after being moved off Lovett and got a lot of the ball.
      • Leo a month away from playing any football at all.(which is weird because Leo himself said he would be back in the reserves next week on the Triple M broadcast)
      • McVeigh felt his hammy tight during the warmup. Didn't want to risk it. Should be okay for next week.
Dur Paul, what you said. Young, fit and uses the ball well. Well hello!

Why would he mention Leo Barry in his press conference? Weird.

I dunno, maybe because he was asked about Leo?

Coaches do go into press confrences and just start banging on about what they want, they are asked questions and respond.

Would assume someone asked about Leo playing a final game before the end of the year to see him off.

It was actually 12. Should be playing FF next week and from now on.

I'm honestly okay with that at this stage of his development. He's new to the game, knowing where to pop the ball for someone to run onto is something I expected to take a while for him.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

They brought up 12 on the scoreboard and have him 12 in the match report on the Swans site too (not that it overly matters, >10 is still a lot).

Perhaps we all see no future for Ablett & Crouch, & frankly Pyke (what a curious replacement for McVeigh) but am I the only one who sees no future for indecisive Mattner, brave but slow Bevan? Shaw gets the ball a lot but the error rate is starting to build...those kick outs to nowhere got a bit tiring. Malceski is not a patch on the player pre injury...sad to watch.
I got a bit pilloried for my "let's get players with brains" thread and suggesting that

                      Bevan
                      Richards
                      Mattner
                      Shaw

...should be let go for that reason. it's a waste of time (long term) sticking with these players who just mess up far, far too much to ever contribute for a premiership in the future.

We MUST just play the younger players we have (and whoever we can get in the draft) to try and find some who are better, and, even more importantly, who have the ability to LEARN and to IMPROVE with time.

LRT can stay 'cos he's tall. I think he might need a new coach, though.

Ugg's post in the reserves game thread (from Mysporting pulse??) game him 11 and pretty sure that is right. I stopped counting how many he kicked after a while but the scoreboard at the ground had it wrong at quarter time, when they had credited him with 2 and Thornton with none. Thornton definitely kicked a goal in that opening term and close to certain that White only kicked the one.

I expected it would be something along those lines anyway (how they can screw that up for one fixture but not the next does make me giggle a bit!), I was just saying why folks would think he got 12.

Either way, 11 or 12, it's a lot of goals!

Jolly didn't seem to spend as much time on the ground as normal and looked tired. Goodes was up and down. Jude was quieter than his best games. Macca wasn't there.

The younger players are all making decent contributions but none of them is really physically able to step up when our core of half a dozen "stars" is down a bit.
Jeez Roosey you don't reckon the fact that the premiership captain was driven around the boundary line at halftime in tears might have had something to do with the experienced players being "flat"? The player they looked to for the aggression is being booted out of the club and they look down. The smart arse who thought of the idea of parading Hall at half time to avoid having the players on the field to farewell him came up with a plan that flopped. Very ordinary day in the history of the club.

I'm pretty sure it was 11 as I was keeping a close count. As liz said Thornton definitely kicked 1 in the first and wasn't credited with it. But, if giving White an extra goal is going to help his chances for a seniors call-up next week then I'm all for it!
