    Round 16 - Carlton

All good things must come to an end.

Our fabulous run against the Blues can't go on forever, and I think it will finally come to a halt this Sunday afternoon at Etihad Stadium.

We might welcome back Jesse White and Jarrad McVeigh, and maybe the Barry Hall distraction won't be there, but Carlton have plenty to play for, and we don't.

I'd be surprised if they don't inflict a fairly heavy loss on us.

    Carlton by 36.

We'll be sore for a week after this one.

    By more than 40.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Not much good the Blues. If you can restrict Judd's output and get Fevola to have one of those bad days that he regularly has, then you beat them.

Haven't got much confidence in our mob at the moment but Carlton are quite overrated.

i'm a fairly big pessimist but for some reason i have a feeling (see delusion) that we will continue the winning streak over the Blues. I think we'll go in with a nothing to lose attitude and play some free flowing football.

          haha that sounds delusional.

            Like the sound of that

Carlton are hardly in great form either.

White emerges as Hall's replacement | Daily Telegraph

"The Gold Coast product, along with Melbourne school student Dan Hannebery - who could debut as early as Saturday at Ethiad Stadium"

Hanneberry could debut as stated before.

Im tipping the Swans. I think hacks such as crouch and ablett won't play and won't be needed. The newer younger generation will get us over guided by guys such as goodes and kirky. Either way im really excited.
White to kick 4, Veszpa to kick 2 and get 20 odd possies.

I'm going on Saturday afternoon and I want to see a bloody victory. I have only seen one victory in the flesh and that was against carlton at the SCG in round 4, I flew up for that game as I did for the collingwood game(I do every year) that was a loss. The only other games I have been to are all the other Melbourne games and am yet to see a win. Grrrrrrrr

                  1) Jesse White to kick 5 and a new hero is born.
                  2) Fevola will go goal-less, thanks to B2
                  3) Goodes towels Judd.

Plus I cant remember the last time Carlton even beat us.....

Agree with this view. Nothing like a bit of fresh enthusiasm. God, what an experience for Hannebery if he gets named, still at school and getting to run out in front of friends and family. A mate of mine in a similar position 15-odd years ago was given prescription drugs by his club after the game to deal with the post-match euphoria.

I reckon the older heads will be absolutely stinging after last week too. I have a sneaky feeling it could be set up for a really serious, committed effort this week.... (insert emoticon for crossed fingers, or praying to football gods here)
