DST, don't bring common sense into the argument at this stage! We are having such a lovely time wallowing in self pity.

I know, but couldn't help myself.

It was disappointing how finished the game off, but Carlton are now full of top picks and talent and if they increase their work rate, run hard and apply pressure they will beat most teams.

They are a vastly different side to one we smashed into oblivion in the last 8 years.

It was a pathetic 50. Nothing in it.

Unfortunately( and I hate to say negative things about swans players), I think its time to cut L. Ablett loose.
Ditto on Nick Smith. Went to the game. Very impressive. Reached for the Record and it said said he has played six games. I can't recall seeing him before - but then of course we miss a lot of the games in the West.
Crucified by the umpiring in the third, Barlow had several terrible clangers but a lot to be positive about as per some of the other comments.
          Shaw still irritates me.

I was at this game. Our mob had a good 1st half. They had a stellar (and significantly better) 2nd half. Our mob is good for 1.5 qtrs of football against the top 8 teams, and 2.5 qtrs aginst the rest.

Our boys seem fit(ish), but under-skilled (even the seniors).

Look at the final score. Umpiring was not a factor. Some bad decisions in the 3rd qtr, yes. But it was the 4th qtr and their precise and decisive use of the ball that lost us this game. There were some good signs for our future though. Faith and dedication.

FWIW, I don't rate the Blues as premiers (for this or coming years). Just better than us at this point in time. Which annoys me, because I REALLY hate the Blues!

I took my boy to this game, and I wish we'd at least made a contest in the final qtr instead of
