One of the all time great nights. Couldn't have been done any better.

If they cut out the entertainment. ie the singing quartet then it would have been a well timed night.

Once it hit midnight was starting to get a bit restless.

Quality night though, some great montagues and videos as well as speeches.

Players were very happy to take photos and sign books etc. Felt a bit sorry for Goodes though as his table was righht in the middle of it all and had a crowd with him the entire night.

Also, does anyone know how often the hall of fame will take inductees? hope its a 4 year sort of thing.
        Onwards to Victory!

Just got back today. A great night all round.

And to those who felt that it should have been held in Sydney - i disagree. Melbourne deserved to host it IMO.

It was a great night and was held in the right place with no disrespect to Sydney as there wouldn't have been the same passion from 1300 people up there.

No problem with it being held in Melbourne (history speaks for itself) but your passion comment is crap. If you don't want to disrespect Sydney people then please keep comments like these to yourself.

I imagine that the event will be shared between Sydney and Melbourne on whatever cycle they decide the Hall of Fame will be held.

Keep the "Two Cities, One Team" theme going. Made sense for the first induction to be in Melbourne, but would be pretty ridiculous to have all inductions in Melbourne.

                  former players?

Did anyone notice which former players attended the event?

Gerard Healy said on 3AW tonight that it was the best night he had been to and that the Swans are the absolute standouts in putting together these big celebrations.

                      I think that's probably right.

I heartily concur. I save my pennies to get to my once a year event, the B&F because I can't afford any other. How dare you be so rude.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a Victorian Swan but that stuff belongs in another era. Sure there'd be people in Sydney more passionate about the club than others but it's exactly the same down here, I can assure you.

I am sorry i should have put it better as i meant for all the old South people honouring past South champs.
But Colless did say thank you to all the South people for allowing us in Sydney to be custodians of this great club for 27 years !
By the way i am entitled to my opinion just the same as your goodself.

nah speak up mate, im sure they are passionate and no offence to Sydney people but it belonged in Melbourne, it was held directly at the other end of the main st of South Melbourne 2kms from the Lake oval South Melbourne and it just felt right with alot of old Bloods most from Melbourne/South Melbourne in attendence, most of the old Bloods(plenty over 80) wouldnt have made the trip to Sydney, it was a great night, and as im South Melbourne born and bred it was very welcome and did alot to get some support back from the old crew, some of you sydney folk should think of our loss before you judge bedfords comments! Anyway, Go Bloods!

Read my post before you comment. I heartily concur that the function should have been in Melbourne for all the reasons you state. I took exception to Bedfords assertion that Sydney people wouldn't have shown the same passion. (Bedford has since clarified the statement)
