Who Wants to run the membership department?

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

With all us big mouth experts at RWO I'm surprised they didn't come directly here with an offer. This ain't Richmond or the public service where you have to go through some process because you actually have no idea - the Swans should just go straight to the source of the talent.

It sounds rewarding but it'll be a tough gig. Maybe not as hard as dealing with constituents though.

I'd do it, but I prefer to watch the games rather than sit in the membership office on game day.

If you run the Dept, surely you'd delegate on game day.

Ummmm.....this role is for a @@@@ kicker in the Membership Dept, not the manager. I seem to recall someone mentioning that the lowest level employees are called 'Executive' and this is one of those positions - just read the ad....

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

It's the @@@@kicker that actually does the work - the "manager" will go to the @@@@kicker to get answers to questions from his boss.

                    Exactly. Not "running" anything. Next.

Reporting to the Member Services Manager in the Clubs Membership & Fan Development Department, this position will have prime responsibility for providing the highest level of customer service to valued Sydney Swans members, supporters and prospects in addition to assisting with the implementation and execution of member retention and acquisition strategies.

Then I read on, and on, and on, and on. Good grief, no wonder the membership department people quit! What do they want! Blood!

Fan Development department! Hey Annie, there is a Fan Development Department et al.

Just in case anyone is asking, I am NOT applying for this job. Sounds like too hard. And they would have to talk to someone like me a lot, and I wouldn't like that.

God no I wouldn't want it either 'cos apart from not getting to see the games they would then become your employer and who wants their entertainment to be their employment - I am sure it would spoil the whole thing!!

also they play on the persons support of the club on the premise that you will do anything for them. Its pretty much working 7 days a week for the duration of the season - sure there are a few fringe benefits (like a couple of free memeberships & access to the players) but at the end of the day the hours are horrendous and the pay not much better.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Well blow me down. That'll teach me to stop reading at "prime responsibility" and ignore all the "supports and assists".
