He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Another time he took a big mark well outside 50 m and Goldspink (!!) said "you can't kick that" and he did.

I think there were a lot of nerves for last weekend's big match. Goodes, Jude and Luke all missed gimmes. They went back to normal as the nerves settled and they got on top.

They won't have that luxury this weekend.
Another memorable goal from NOG was late in the 3rd qtr against Brisbane at Homebush, 2003 PF.

Him and Tadhg both kicked goals from outside 50 to get us less than a kick behind at 3/4 time. The noise and atmosphere generated when we made that charge late in the 3rd qtr of that game still ranks with me as just about as loud as I've heard and I've been to every Swans final in the past 20 years (barring Perth).

Capper was a VERY accurate kick from anywhere within 40m. Mightn't have been the prettiest kick, but very effective.

His shenanigans since he has retired has also downplayed just how good a player he was as well.

I agree! Before he moved to FF he was a very effective half forward with pace and skill. He earned his place and made the best Full backs of his era look and often act stupid. He was an untidy looking kick because he concentrated on accuracy and getting everything straight which for Warwick didn't come naturally with one exception of course! :-)

            No.

From the way he handles the ball and drops it onto his foot. Fact - his technique is currently flawed and he would easily be the worst kick in the team at this point.

If you can't handle the truth or dispute it you need to go back to Australian Football 101.

                Jude gets the MCG yips.

Luke has had 3 set shots from inside 20 in the last 2 games. Missed with an absolute shocker and the other 2 just scraped in near the left hand post. Could be argued that he is the worst kick for goal in the comp.

If you watch him in the warm ups his disposal is immaculate.

I agree, he drops the ball across his foot like a rugby player, but we are judging from a very small sample. His kick for goal went dead straight, problem was he aimed slightly to the left of the goals.

I reckon he would have a nailed a drop goal kick from that angle

Bull@@@@. Plenty of people kick perfectly well with unusual techniques. Brendan Fevola is one. Brett Kirk is another (kicking is not nearly as bad as it looks). Of his 8 kicks this year, I struggle to think of one that has been a shank, or missed it's target. His kicks are long, penetrating and accurate. The reason he's being generally discouraged to kick it in general play is almost certainly due to his decision making, which due to his short exposure to the game would be less than terrific. I also don't know what his kicks would be like on the run under pressure. But in terms of set shots for goal, his technique is far from ideal, but it's what he has been using his entire life in union, and it is working decently.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I remember thinking he was going to miss that shot before he kicked. You could see that there was something wrong with his boot. The tongue and/or shoe laces were hanging out the side.

That's because he kicked the most important goal in Swans History, the one that got us back in front in 2005, and noone is going to be disloyal enough to nominate him. Are we.....hmmmm?
